Safe For Now

We Are Young-Fun.

Y/n POV

We all stop, freezing when seeing the light come out of the metal doors. I can't seem to move. Wow. I did not expect that to happen.

I begin to feel something breathe on me and I get anxious. Daryl? I turn around and see a walker eye to eye at me. It lunges at me and attempts to bite me. My eyes widen, before I know it, I'm on the ground. Trying to stop the walker from biting me. I grunt and try to fight back. The walker is strong and I start to lose my grip. I look up at the walker and see an arrow pierce it's skull.

The walker falls down, landing on me. I quickly push it off and try to stand up, but I fall back down when I hear someone yell at me.

"Come on!" Daryl yells. He puts his hand out, signaling for me to grab his hand. I do so. He pulls me up and close to him. This seems to get everyone's attention, as they see the dead walker near me.

"Let's go!" Rick screams. Soon, everybody immediately rushes in. We look around, making sure the area's clear. "Hello? Hello?!" Rick yells into the darkness. Me and Daryl look around and I see some sort of figure in the dark corner.

"Close those doors. Watch for Walkers." T-dog mentions. Everyone continues looking around, except me. My eyes stay on the figure.

"Who open those doors?" Carol asked. I knew Everyone wondered the same thing.

"Who opened the doors?" I muttered back, keeping my focus on the dark figure. Daryl heard this and look down at me. I lightly shove Daryl back and pull my gun out. "Come out!" I yell, keeping my gun up. Everyone looks at me startled, including Daryl.

"Hello?" Rick yells. The silence is broken by a gun cocking. We all raise our weapons and a man comes out of the dark, raising his machine gun.

"Anybody infected?" he yells, asking his question. He stay's where he is though. Not moving.

"One in our group was. He-he didn't make it." Rick sadly says. The man steps closer.

"Why are you here? What do you want?" The man ask. I look at Rick. He keeps his eyes on the man.

"A chance." Rick states. The man keeps stepping close. Not lowering his gun.

"That's asking an awful lot these days." the man says.

"I know." Rick mentions. The man looks at each person. Examining Each person for over 10 seconds. His eyes land on me last. He looks at me for a long time, before speaking up.

"You in the air force?" My eyes widen at his question. He doesn't stop looking at me. I know that he was talking to me.

"No...Why do you ask?" I wish I shouldn't have asked that.

"Your jacket. It's from the air force." he adds. I look down at my jacket. I look down at it for too long, remembering that it was never mine. I slowly look back up at the man and He gives me the look of "no matter what you do, you can not lie to me." I sigh.

"It's-uh, it was my....-was's my brother's." I say. Guilt going in my stomach. The pain conceiving me once again.

"How did it happen?" he ask softly.. I shake my head and scoff at his words.

"Why should I tell you?" I ask, my voice getting agitated.

"Because your part of the reason I let you in. These people count on you. You should answer the question...Or you can go back out there." He looks towards the door, knowing he means what he says. I glare at him and he just waits for an answer. I see everyone looking at me, hoping I do the right thing. I stop myself from going over to his smug face and slapping it off, instead.... I take a deep breathe.
