A new day

Hurt-Johnny Cash

Y/n POV

I laid on the porch again, holding my side. The sun was coming up and I couldn't sleep. It was a long night. After Shane did what he did and that memory I had too. With the fact of not sleeping either, I...couldn't breathe. It was hard to breathe now and I have to keep taking gasps for air.

I was so cold and I kept sweating for no reason. I would even have small couch's, but I needed to ignore it.

I got up and began to limp over to the chair. I gently grabbed it and tried sitting down softly, but ended up falling into the chair.

Pain was my friend now. For it has always been my friend.

I looked around, admiring the sunrise. I admired this, until I saw Adam's grave. I looked down in sadness, but looked back up to it.

I...I need to do this. I got up and headed for the grave. Limping along the way. When I got there, I softly criss-crossed at the end of the grave. I grabbed the dirt softly and spread it around.

I took one last shaky breath. "Your kind of a jackass..." it stayed quiet and I chuckled to myself. "Leaving me in this world-by myself-with people I don't even know....Thank you."

I smiled to the grave now. "Your in a better place now. You don't have to be in this world. I'm glad your safe now and...I'm never going to let you down. I promise....These people tho...they've respected me...why?"

...No answer.

"They don't know me!" I had fear in my voice.

No answer.

"I'm-im dangerous. What if they find out-" That's when a big guide of wind hit me. I stopped and my eyes widen.

"What am I saying....I'm not...her..." Maybe it was just me, but...I believe that was him. The wind. "I'm scared, Adam. I really need you. If you are truly with me....then you'll let me go. Let me leave this world! I don't want to be in it!"

There was no wind this time. Nothing. No answer.

"Then I am truly alone....I love you."

I got up and saw Rick was up now. He noticed me and walked over. "You okay." He asked and I softly nodded to his response. "If you ever need me-"

"Rick. I'm fine." I gently smiled to him. "I'm okay now." He hesitated, but nodded slowly at me.

"Okay." He stated softly. Glenn and the others began to come out now. Rick noticed them and waved them over. "Morning, guys. Let's get going. We've got a lot of ground to cover."

"Alright, everyone's getting new search grids today." Rick added, while placing the map down on the car trunk. I couldn't hold in a groan and I held my side.

"Everything good?" T-dog asked.

"I'm fine." I snapped, waving my hand away. This caught everyone by shock and T-dog looked a bit hurt by my actions. "Ahem. I'm sorry."

"Okay...If she made it as far as the farmhouse Daryl found, she might have gone further East than we've been so far." Shane went to the car door and opened it, sitting down in the passenger seat.

"I'd like to help." A boy from Hershel's farm asked. Everyone gave him a look, but he ignored it. Daryl was putting on his coat and seemed to be questioning me. What the? "I know the area pretty well and stuff."
