"Adam?" I called out. Adam turned his head to me slowly. He looked around everywhere, making sure it was safe. He watched the crowd intensely. "Adam." I took his hand, which caused him to look down at me. "Adam. I'm not sure about this." I looked around at everyone.
We were in the city's safe zone right now. There has been talk that a quarter of the city was already taken by those monster things. The military immediately decided to move us away from that part of the city. They had it cut off, but who knew how long that would last for.
"This is the only way. If we go back now, we won't make it." Adam reassured me. There was people everywhere. Most of them looked scared or even sad. How did this even happen?
I looked at Adam with sad eyes. "What do you think happen to Martin and Austin? Lillian too?" Fear was in my voice. Austin shook his head at me.
"I don't know. Martin last contacted me when I was at work, but that was 4 days ago. Anything could have happened." I sighed out loud, looking to the ground.
"I pray to god he's okay." I mumbled. Adam noticed this and grabbed my shoulders, bringing me to look up at him.
"Hey. If I know Martin. He's gonna be fine and so are we. The governments gonna deal with this problem and we'll be fine. We are going to see them again." I hesitated, but softly nodded at him.
Adam kept his hands on my shoulders. I looked over to my side. My view wasn't in the way of people anymore. The people were off to the side and I had a small clearing. Some people passed by into the clearing, but I could make out one thing.
The radio station.
Something wasn't right about it. The people in the tent didn't look alright. Like something was troubling them. I frowned to this and looked back at Adam. "Adam. Look." He turned his head to where mine was. His face having the somewhat same expression.
"Stay here." He reassured. He let go of my shoulders and tried to walk off. I immediately got to my feet and stopped him.
"Will they even let you in?" I asked, stopping him to a full stop.
"No. I know the military. They won't let civilians in, but they'll let me in."
"How do you know. For all we know, they could kick us out."
"They won't. I was a military Sargent and trained two of those kids. They'll trust me." And like that he walked off again. I looked around me, more people were gathering.
I watched as Adam went over to the tent and I put my hand to my lips in anxiety. The men noticed him and tried to stop him, but he some how convinced them that he was fine to go in. The two kids he must have trained saluted to him, and let him in.
He went over to the station and put on some headphones. I knew by the look on his face, he was study what it was saying. Soon, he was talking to the men.
Their conversation was long, but something caught their attention. Something outside the tent.
"AHHHH!" I heard screaming and immediately turned my head to the screaming, as did many other people.
I began to run to the screaming. People were crowding me, and I pushed through them. When I got there...there was a monster biting a girl. 3 people were already dead.
People screamed more, and ran away from the monster. I stayed and watched what was going on. I was terrified, but barely showed it. The girl collapsed to the ground, shaking while breathing for air. "Help me!!"
