Chris POV

Today is mine and Frankie's 1 year anniversary. I'm going all out for her today. She hasn't been feeling all that well, so I'm making her eggs and toast, pretty much the only breakfast she can stomach. Thankfully she made herself a doctor's appointment for today. That was a nightmare trying to get her to agree on seeing one to begin with!

"Frankie, you should really go see a doctor. You aren't well. You wake up most days and have to run to throw up and you haven't been eating well!"

She sighs at me with a small "ok" before she stands up and heads to the mirror in our room.

"I saw a doctor and she said I was fine."

I look at her, the shock clear on my face, and try not to laugh. Frankie 1-Chris 0. She's certainly sarcastic and sassy.

After the shock wears off I exhale a laugh. "I have to hand it to you, that was a good move, but I would really feel better if you went to see a different doctor that is not you."

She giggles and shakes her head. "Fine, if it will make you feel better, I will make an appointment."

"Thank you."

I love her sense of humor, but I really wanted her to take her health seriously, especially if we are planning on having kids.

I put her breakfast on a tray, and head over to the bedroom. I can hear Frankie and Eli's quiet voices as they giggle and talk.

I walk in and see her tickling his sides as he giggles mercilessly. I laugh at their antics before saying good morning to them.

"I've brought you breakfast in bed, love. Happy anniversary." I gently kiss her lips as I hand her the tray.

"This is too sweet Chris! Thank you! Happy anniversary!" She kisses my lips once more before I usher Eli out of the room to start getting ready for the day.

I'm taking Eli to school today since Frankie is going to the doctor, and took the day off to give herself some time to rest.

I head back to the kitchen to find Eli eating his breakfast, so I sit and join him at the kitchen island.

"Are you nervous about tonight dad?" He's looking at me with curious bright green eyes.

"I am, and I'm not. I love your mom, and I want us to spend the rest of our lives together, but I don't want to mess the proposal up." I exhale my nerves trying to calm down.

"Well, I know she'll say yes." He says so nonchalantly that it makes me smile.

"Thanks for the vote of confidence bud. You remember what to do right?" He nods with a big smile on his face.

"I have it hidden in my room! Thank you for making a part of it!" I laugh at his enthusiasm.

"I wouldn't have it any other way. Now, finish up so we can get going."

I set my dishes in the dishwasher and head back to our room.

Frankie is in the bathroom getting ready for her day. I approach her from behind and wrap my arms around her.

"Did you enjoy your breakfast?" She smiles at me through the mirror.

"I did, thank you. I can't wait for dinner tonight, and to get home after that." She gives me a seductive look through the mirror, and all I can do is moan in her ear.

"We will need to drop Eli off at your parents after dinner, because I plan on making you scream my name, all night long." I kiss her neck in the spot that always makes her whimper.

It takes everything in me to not bend her over the sink right now, and take her from behind. But I'm brought back to reality by Eli calling out for me saying he was ready to go.

Frankie giggles before she turns around and wraps her arms around my neck hovering her lips over mine. "Down Captain, we can have all the fun tonight."

I growl at her words before pulling her in for a heated kiss. The moan I draw out of her going straight to my cock. I pull her closer, just wanting to feel her body close to mine. We are so wrapped up in each other we didn't hear footsteps heading into our room.

"Dad! Are we going... ewww." We're interrupted by Eli walking into our room before he notices us.

Frankie and I laugh at his response. "Sorry, bud, yeah let's go. Love you Frankie."

I give her a quick kiss before heading out of the bathroom. "Love you. Love you Eli."

"Love you mom!"

We head out to my car and we head out to the school. After I drop him off, I make my way to work. It's going to feel like the longest day ever.

I walk into the station and I'm met by Silas and John. "Hey, Cap! Is today the big day?"

"Good morning fellas. Yes, it is! I'm doing it over dinner. I got Eli to help me too."

John shakes my hand in congratulations. "I'm truly happy for you Cap. She's made you a lot less grumpy."

I laugh and shake my head as I head to my office. I sit down to answer emails, and work on schedules when a call comes through.

I hear John and Silas calling everyone to get ready before John bursts in through my office door. "Cap, all hands on deck. The call is from Boston. Big office building on fire, they're requesting back up from neighboring stations."

I get up and run to get ready. We're all in our brigs on our way to Boston. My heart is pounding. There's been calls like these before, but it never makes me any less nervous, especially now that I have Frankie and Eli waiting for me back home.

We make it to Boston and get to work. We're getting our hoses out, getting everything set and pointing to where the other firemen on scene are telling us to.

A call goes out for help retrieving survivors from inside. Silas, John and I respond that we are on our way to join search and rescue.

We head into the building, axes in hand, flashlight helmets on to help us find our way. We find a set of stairs leading up where we can hear screams. John takes point, Silas is in the middle as I bring the rear. We find people trying to get out of a smoky office, but the door handle seems to be too hot.

We get the door open and start ushering them out. We continue to find more people stuck in other offices. We help them out of the offices as other coordinating firemen help lead them out of the soon to be crumbling building.

We clear the building of survivors, and start to make our way out. This time I take point trying to carefully step through the building. We make it to the main set of stairs and we make our way down. As we near the exit, I hear a loud rumbling sound before feeling something fall right on me.

I can hear Silas and John screaming my name in a panic, but they sound muffled. I try to move, but can't seem to.

All I can do before my world goes dark is think of Frankie and Eli, and how I need to make it back to them.
