Mother's bedroom did not impress me.
It was horribly un-neat and messy. I felt a compulsion to turn on music and start cleaning. Maybe color-code her dresses, sort her jewerly. Yes... It was hurting me not to...
Suddenly, Octavia tapped my shoulder.
"There it is."She pointed to a glass case that was carefully set on top of a black quartz pedestal.I checked for trip wires, for strange looking tiles, I even searched for places where the floor would crumble beneath us.
"I think were good!"Erik said, though everyone else looked weary.
"You can never be so sure..."Octavia mumured, taking a catious step towards the crown.Probably not catious enough, though, because the tile crumbled into dust, falling into a black void. I just barely pulled her back.
"It's some kind of... code."I say, examining the symbols on the tiles."Like what kind of code?"Valentina asked.
"I believe that it's in Enochian."I suspected."All demi-demons can read Enochian, right?"Erik asked.
"Yes, but I'm least to mess up."I smirked.
I looked over the symbols, instantly reading them. 'Oecrimi tilb turbs.' Meaning, praise her beauty. Of course. Of course my mother had chosen that.
"Follow me,"I said, hopping on tiles. They followed my steps. I accidentally stepped on the wrong tile, it crumbled. And I fell.Octavia grabbed my hand, Erik grabbed the other. They pulled me up.
"Don't get too cocky,"Valentina told me, I rolled my eyes. What did she know? eI continued on the tiles, finally finishing. I stared at my mothers crown, carefully lifting the glass case. I picked up the crown, placing the glass back down.
"Hey... don't we have a time limit..?"Erik wondered.
"WE- WE DO!"Valentina yelled. I checked my watch. We had five minutes to get back.
"We have five minutes!"I said, quickly hopping back on the tiles. Everyone else silently agreed that we had to leave now, because they followed. We finished with the tiles, avoiding trip wires and dodging arrows. We finally left the palace, running towards the elevator with two minutes left.
One minute.I barely touched the door before it got sent up. We... didn't make it.
"So close..."Valentina frowned.
"I- I have an idea."Octavia grinned. That didn't mean something good was going to unfold, did it?
Octavia put her hands together and prayed. Soon enough, a tall, elegant man stood in front of her. He had blue almond-shaped eyes, white hair, bronze-coloured skin, a black suit, and an annoyed look on his face. He was Andrealphus.
"Why must you pester me, daughter? I am an important demon. I do important things. Why do you call me here today?"He wondered, checking his pocket-watch.
"I know. I- I have one prayer left. But... I- We. We need your help."Octavia smiled awkwardly."Well, hurry up, with what?!"Andrealphus jabbed.
"Can you... get us out of here, back to camp?"Octavia asked nervously.
"Of course, darling, why don't I just give everyone here an instrument AND ADD THEM TO HELL'S CHOIR?! NO, I WILL NOT SEND YOU ALL BACK TO CAMP!"The demon raged."Dad! Please... I'm your last kid! What if I die out here?"Octavia pleaded.
"Ughhhh. Fine. The child of Asmodeus, though... she must offer me something. I am not fond of her father."Andrealphus sneered.
"Neither am I..."Valentina mumbled, taking cash from her pocket and handing it to him."Oh, goodie! I will feed it to my many pets. Now, have fun at your little camp."Andrealphus clapped his hands together, everything around us blackened, and I'm hit with a wave of veritgo. The worst motion-sickness I'd ever felt, ever.
And I opened my eyes. I was standing in camp director's cabin along with Valentina, Octavia, and Erik. Jade sat on a couch, spitting out their coffee when they saw us.
"Hey!"Erik smiled.
"Hello."Jade fixed their black skull hoodie, clearing their throat, and I suddenly noticed that Beatriz was on the couch, too, about to pull Jade into a kiss.
I blushed."The crown! We have to return it!"I finally spoke up, grasping the crown in my hands before running out the door.
Octavia, Erik, and Valentina followed. I swiftly ran into my cabin. My mother sat on my bed, screech owl on her shoulder.
"Mother."I greeted her.
"Aella,"She walked over to me, taking her crown back and putting it on. "Thank you."She coldly smiled."Uhmm... Hey? My memory!"Erik blatently said, making me facepalm.
"Ah, right!"Lilith(my mother) walked over to him, placing her pointer finger in between his eyes. She whispered something under her breath, Erik's eyes glowed before he fell to the ground, awake but panting.
