(Yuh yuh)
Y/n awoke to arms around her waist, seeing the water pillar cling to her body.
She slowly tried to squirm away, feeling his arms get tighter around her.
This wasn't going to work. She decided to wake him up in order to escape.
Lightly tapping on his forehead, Y/n tried to wake the sleeping pillar.
"Tomioka-San, it's time to wake up."Nothing.
"Come on, we need to get ready to leave."
Maybe a tiny little groan.
Y/n sighed.
It had been early in the morning to where the sun had barely started peaking from the horizon.
By that time, it had been too late to leave early. She tried to get up again, realizing that she had only been wearing Giyuu's haori and he only had been wearing pants.
She was bare naked.
She flushed in anger, still trying to squirm free of Giyuu's grasp.
In her anger she ended up kicking the pillars leg."Oh, come on! Not even that will wake you? Aren't you supposed to be a hashira? What kind of hashira sleeps through this?"
She flicked his nose, and kick his legs again.
Still, nothing.
What the hell.
Well, if anger and pain weren't waking him up, Y/n could try something else.
She slowly moved her head towards Giyuu's face, planting a small kiss on his forehead.
"Giyuu, wake up."
His eyes opened and she found herself staring again.
He smiled at her.
"Good morning, snowflake."———————-
After waking up Giyuu, she searched around for her haori, finding it folded next to Giyuu along with all of her other clothes.
She gave him a small look.
"Sorry, they were all crumpled on the floor. Besides, you were too busy doing something else."
He smirked at her as he took his haori off of her, putting his regular outfit together.
As he readied his sword, Y/n searched for her own.
Giyuu grabbed it from under his pillow.
"I- uh didn't want you to get hurt or anything."
"And what on earth would I get hurt from?"
He stood silent.
"Tomioka-San, I'm not some delicate butterfly (unlike shinobu) I can handle myself."
"I know that, but I just don't want you getting hurt."
"Yeah I can see that. First putting me in a dungeon against my will and now hiding my own weapon from me like I'm gonna cut myself on purpose."
"Y/n-"
"No, I don't want to hear it. You've been possessive of me from since we've first met. We need to establish boundaries. I can't have you getting in the way of my missions and whatnot. And I don't need another cell to be locked up in."
Giyuu's lips pursed.
He had been possessive. He'd known that since day one. He just didn't know it was so obsessive.
How stupid of him. What right did he have?
To lock her away where no one could see her? How foolish.
To take away her weapon? How selfish.
He didn't own her.
The only thing connecting them was a red string.Yeah, sure. They had some unspoken bond that had been built up to now, but it's not like they were actually a couple.
He just wanted to keep her safe.
And how could he do that by not giving her reassurance?
He clenched his fist.
"You're right. I've been selfish. I just didn't want to admit it. The only thing that connects us is this string."He moved towards her and Y/n crossed her arms.
"So, can we be more than just connected by a string?"
Y/n stared at him.
"You're truly, very sorry about locking me up and being possessive?"
He nodded.
"I promise to never do something so selfish to you ever again. I don't want you to feel pressured by my decisions even if I was the one who made them for you. I shouldn't have even decided anything for you. You're your own person and I want to respect that.
I don't want to treat you as just the end of my string."He grabbed her hand and looked at her.
"I did think of you as your own person before but when I learned you were my string I just-"
Y/n cupped his hand in her own.
"I know. It's ok. Strings are a rare occurrence. I don't blame you for wanting to protect me, but like you said I am my own person and I need my space."
Giyuu felt tears burst out of his eyes.
"I'm sorry."
He placed his head in Y/n's shoulder. Y/n placed a hand on his head, caressing him.
"I won't do it again I promise. I'm sorry."
He had bottled up his emotions for so long until the overflowed.
Y/n had never seen him like this, no one had."It's ok. I know you wont do it again."
Y/n kept caressing him until he finally calmed down, eyes swollen and red.
"Y/n, with marriage in mind, may I have the honor of becoming your official lover. I promise not to project my selfishness on you ever again and I promise to be loyal to you and only you."
His voice sounded hoarse from all the crying apologies.
Y/n sighed.
"Of course. I was wondering how long we would go without being official."
Y/n chuckled to herself."Have you calmed down now?"
Giyuu nodded.
"When this is all over, I promise, we'll get married and maybe have a family together."
Giyuu looked up at her hopefully.
"Really?"
He had puppy dog eyes.
Oh how innocent the sight was."Yes, really."
Y/n smiled at him.Giyuu laughed.
He stood back up, wiping his eyes.
"Thank you Y/n."He hugged her so tightly, Y/n almost forgot to breathe.
"I love you.""Giyuu, a little too tight."
He loosened his grip and suddenly picked Y/n up, having her sit in his forearms while supporting her legs."Sorry, is this better?"
Y/n sighed.
"As long as you don't try to squeeze the rest of my life out of me"
She smirked and kissed him on his cheek as he walked out of the room with him, going towards Shinobu's room, seeing a note saying 'went out to the next village. See you there~'."Seems they left early."
Giyuu shrugged and walked outside after paying the hotel owner, still carrying Y/n and they set off."Giyuu, you don't have to carry me the whole way. Save your strength."
"No, it's fine. I was the one who wanted to do this."
A few miles later, Y/n jumped off his arms and they traveled on foot side by side to their next destination.
(Omg the author finally addressed the possessive issue wowowoowiowowowowowow)
