I sigh in satisfaction as the warm, delicious food fills my taste buds. After a couple of hours, all the groups had finished making their curry and we all joined each other at the tables to enjoy our hard work.
It had been so long since I last made curry so I was nervous that it wouldn't turn out as it had before. Thankfully it came out just as I wanted it to. Uraraka squeals as she eats another bite, exclaiming, "You're a food genius!"
Ashido comes out from behind me and says, "I wanna try!" I laugh and hand her a spoonful of food off my plate. She takes the bite and her eyes legit light up, stars and everything. There was a slight blush on her cheeks as she cradle them with her hands. "This is the best thing I've ever tasted."
"Marry me," She held my hands as she proposed.
I roll my eyes. "In your dreams."
"Oh come on."
"You couldn't handle all of this."
"And what makes you think you could even handle me?"
"Touché. Dealing with you every day, 24/7, would be too challenging, even for a hero."
"How cruel!"
The table laughs and finally, for once in so long, it really felt like this was a normal school trip. A dinner made by us specially, everyone eating together, laughing and joking around. This was the kind of high school lifestyle we needed.
I never want this to end.
As everyone starts to finish, those of us who had been done begin to clean up the area to get ready for bed. Thankfully, the Pros were kind enough to clean our dishes for us, saying it was our reward for a successful day.
I pile up the bowls for my group as Midoriya takes the utensils, placing them in a small bin.
"So where'd you disappear to earlier?" I elbow him playfully.
"Oh," Midoriya chuckles sheepishly. "I noticed Kota-kun didn't eat and walked off somewhere. I tried to make conversation with him, but I was shut down almost immediately."
I hum. "I hope he'll be okay."
"Same here."
"Well, knowing it's you, I'm sure he will be. You got this weird hero complex where you always want to help others in need, even if they don't want it. Not that it's a bad thing. It shows you care. Definitely one of your qualities that I admire."
I see a blush on his freckled cheeks and he bashfully looks down at his hands. "Thank you," he says.
As I'm about to respond, I suddenly trip over my own feet.
I yelp, quickly stepping my other foot out to catch my balance. But before I can do so, a pair of hands hold mine, keeping the bowls in place in case they fell.
