So, are you guys good with me skipping a few battles? I don't want to focus too much on the sports festival because I feel it may be going too slow.
By the way, I appreciate all of you 😭 thank you for the stars ! <3
Midoriya was up first and I could feel the nervousness rise. If he's not careful, he can be brainwashed. Thinking back on it, he seemed to be listening when I explained Shinso's quirk, but I have a feeling this might not go so well.
I take a seat next to Uraraka with Iida on my other side. She also looked nervous for Midoriya. "Do you think he'll be alright?" She asks me.
Maybe if he doesn't say anything to Shinso, he should be fine. "Who knows: he might, he might not. Depends on what he decides to do." I lean my head back. "I think it's best to just believe in him." I tilt my head to look at the brunette.
She smiles. "Mhm!"
Mic announces the competitors and the two males step near the center of the arena. He explains the rules of the game as I watch Shinso speak to Midoriya. I glare at the purple haired boy, immediately knowing he was talking crap on Shoda or someone else.
I sneeze softly into my jacket's sleeve, surprising my classmates around me. "Sorry!" I apologized. They chuckled and waved it off.
"Ready! Start!"
I watch with tense shoulders after the battle begins. They stay still for only a moment before Midoriya makes the first advance. But when he suddenly stops, I get up abruptly. I rush to the railings. "That damn idiot! And after I told him specifically not to talk to him!"
"Abe, what's happening?" Uraraka asked me with a frantic tone.
I groan. "That kid has a brainwashing quirk so if you communicate with him, he has total control over your body. It's freaky!"
Irritating me beyond what I usually was, Midoriya turns and slowly walks to the boundary line. I slap the cement boarder, gritting my teeth. "Midoriya, stop!"
"Abe, please calm down!" Iida instructs.
"Huh? Huh?! You're one to talk Iida," I lean my head in my arms. "You were just yelling not too long ago."
Iida pauses and I turn my attention back to the match. Midoriya was close to the edge. I tap the boarder as I whisper, "You're kidding... come on, Izuchan. Don't go down like this."
A burst of air suddenly comes from the arena, the smoke rising from the impact. It also seemed to influence Midoriya's awakening from the brainwashing quirk. I was astonished he was able to break out like that. It was unexpecting.
I let a heavy sigh out, sitting back in my seat. Midoriya was really testing my anxiety right there with the last minute save.
