What should be your placement in the obstacle race? I don't really know if I should put you second, third, or fourth
I throw my bag over my shoulder as I make my way to Bakugou's seat. The last bell had just sounded not too long ago and everyone was currently packing up to leave.Bakugou and I made an agreement that my family and I would only go if he walks with me home to formally ask my parents if they wanted to go over. Luckily, today was their day off.
"I'm only doing this because I don't want to hear the old hag nag about it," the blonde grumbled as I sat on the desk on side of his.
"Of course," I say, watching him get his things together. "If it makes you feel better, I can bring you lunch tomorrow~"
"Shut the fuck up! I don't need your damn goodwill." He gets up from his seat and slings his bag on his shoulder. "Come on. Let's get this over with."
Jumping off the desk, I trail behind the male happily. I wonder how my parents will react when they see Bakugou again after all these years.
"What the hell," I hear Bakugou mumble. I peek over the side and see our door blocked by students.
"We can't get out!" Mineta exclaims, pumping a small fist. "What'd you come here for?"
"Scouting out the enemy, small fry," Bakugou states, making his way over in a surprisingly calm manner. "We're the ones who made it out of the villains' attack."
"Oh, Bakugou," I whine quietly, hoping he doesn't hear me. "I really hope you don't blow up."
"There's no point in doing stuff like this," he says, stopping at the exit. I stop as well, looking over the sea of people. "Out of the way, extras."
I feel a slight shiver go down my back at the growl in his voice.
"Stop calling people 'extras' just because you don't know them!" Iida scolded.
"I came to see what the famous Class A was like," someone says from the crowd. A boy with messy, purple hair emerges to the entrance. "but you seem pretty arrogant. Are all the students in the hero course like this?"
I facepalm as Bakugou tilts his head. "Oh no," I mutter.
"Seeing something like this makes me disillusioned. There are quite a few people who enrolled in general studies or other courses because they didn't make it into the hero course. Did you know that?"
"The school has left those of us a chance. Depending on the results of the sports festival, they'll consider our transfer into the hero course. And it seems they may also transfer people out."
I lean my weight on my right leg and tilt my head. All this standing around and doing nothing is really starting to cramp me up.
"I, at least, came to say that even if you're in the hero course, if you get too carried away, I'll sweep your feet out from under you. I came with a declaration of war."
"Great," I whisper. "Just what we needed. A bold person to challenge another."
Bakugou stays silent with a scold still resting on his features. I poke his back and he moves his head slightly. "Can we leave now?" I ask. His lip twitches up for a millisecond. "They're keeping me from getting my homework done."
"Hey, hey!" Someone else yells. "I'm from Class B next door! I heard you fought against villains, so I came to hear 'bout it! Don't get so full of yourself!"
I internally groan, unconsciously rolling my eyes. "I'm sorry, your point? I understand you want to 'declare war' and you feel some type of way about us, but could you do it some other time? We have places to be and all of you are kind of in the way." My classmates seemed a shocked from what I said, but I could careless at this point. These students were starting to frustrate me.
I just blankly stare at the silver haired male before pulling Bakugou's blazer. Without another second, he begins to move to leave.
"Wait a minute, Bakugou, Abe!" Kirishima calls, causing the male to stop. "What're you gonna do about all this? It's your fault that everyone's hating on us!"
"It doesn't matter," Bakugou calls back. "It doesn't matter as long as you rise to the top."
I hold onto his blazer as he continues his way, my eyes setting priorly on the purple haired male. "I'm sorry~"
。。。
The sports festival started in only two weeks and everyone sure was pumped. I could barely contain my excitement. For the past year or so, my dad hadn't been training with me. I was always responsible for my own training, but because of this upcoming event, I desired to train with him once again.
"Huh?! What do you mean you can't help me out?"
My dad laughs sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm sorry, hon. I know I promised to help when the time came, but things have gotten hectic at work for the past few days."
"But dad!" I whined.
My mom comes up from behind me and kisses my head. "He really is sorry, dear. I know you don't watch the news, but things at the company and the station have gotten busier than usual."
I sigh, hugging my parents. Things like this seemed to always happen to us. "I understand. It's okay, I'll find someone else to train with me."
"You be careful, okay?" My dad says as we all let go. "I would rather you not be alone these days, so if you want to invite Uraraka-san or Ashido-san, you're welcome to. Don't travel alone at night either."
"Okay, okay. Now go on, you two." I swat them away. I wave to them as they exit the house, my hand resting on my hip.
"Time for plan B, I guess," I say, taking my phone out. I turn it on and search the contacts for the number Mitsuki gave me. "Let's hope this is who I think it is."
I press the number, walking back to my room. I press the speaker button and tie my hair up in a ponytail, wrapping the ribbon securely. I smile at my reflection as the person answers the phone with a growl.
"Hello?"
"Good morning, sunshine~"
"Damn Abe. What the fuck do you want?"
Slipping my night clothes off, I put on my workout clothes. "What do you say about a little one-on-one training?"
