I wonder if it's too late to drop out?
I just wanted a pleasant evening with my classmates. Not running after Midoriya who decided to ditch the others at the starting area as we're attacked.
"Izuchan!" I yell, lining up beside him in mid run. "Where the hell are we going?!"
"Kota! He's all alone, I'm sure of it. We can't leave him unattended!" The look in his eyes is heart pounding. It makes me nervous and somewhat scared of what could happen to the kid. Of course it should make me feel this way. It's a kid for crying out loud. He's too young.
I follow him blindly. I have no clue as to where we were, but I have to trust Kota will be here. Surely, there's no way that a villain would just happen to be in the same area as him. The forest is big and secluded.
So how is it that the one in a thousand chance of a villain attacking Kota is happening?
My heart drops as a giant man stomps up to the small boy. His large arm raises, something close to muscle fibers encasing it. He's gonna kill Kota! No, no, no, nonono!
I grab hold of Midoriya's arm, never taking my eyes off the two. He yells, almost falling to the ground. "Throw me!"
I can see how he looks dumbfound at my demand. I smack his arm. "Throw me now, dammit!"
"I-Okay!"
Without a second thought, I'm launched into the air. I snatch Kota out of the way, dodging the attack just in time. I use my body as a shield and hold the boy close to my chest as we hit the ground.
I pull the boy away from me slightly, checking him for any visible injuries. I can feel all my adrenaline rushing through my body. His eyes were full of tears. He looks at me with pitiful puppy eyes full of fear and anxiousness.
Y-You're here...!
I inhale sharply. Fuck, I was so focused on getting him out the way, I accidentally read his mind. I quickly brush it away. "Gosh dammit, Kota!" I exclaim, pulling him back into a hug. I glance at the monster man glaring our way. "You scared us. You shouldn't be alone."
"Why...?" Kota mumbles. Why do you care so much?
"Hm?" I push him behind me. The man stands up straight. "Who're you?"
His aura is strong and intimidating, but his voice is calm and collected. Those intense eyes of his are enough to make a grown adult fall to their knees in submission. This is a man who's seen and done terrible things.
We were only here to make sure Kota wasn't alone. It's too convenient how a villain ended up here. He slowly walks our way, that sickening grin on his face not leaving. My first priority is to protect Kota and get him out of harm's way. I can use my speed to get us out here, but that can be risky. I have no clue what this guy's quirk is. With his eyes on me, my quirk is no use. I could easily put his ass to sleep if Midoriya can maybe get me an opening.
