Draco's words weren't even cold, when the first tapping could be heard on the window of the dining room. They all looked up at the same time, but it was Harry who stood up and went to open for the owl that was out on the ledge with a letter tied to its leg. He tilted his head, and thought oh crap. Maybe he hadn't thought this through, going to the paper. Now they weren't going to have a moment's peace.
Draco was giggling. Loving the sound, but not at the expense of his own stupidity, Harry growled. It was a playful growl making Draco laugh even louder, because he knew exactly what Harry was thinking. [You beautiful silly bugger. I told you], he said raising an all knowing eyebrow. Harry smiled at him and replied. [Yeah you did]. Resigning himself to the fact that his day was going to consist of him reading soppy notes, he put it down and said he would get to it later. He wanted to finish breakfast first.
By mid morning, he had asked the girls to please come over and help him with reading the letters, because it was scary just how many had been written, and he couldn't possibly get to them all. They were so excited, they immediately agreed. When they arrived, Harry showed them a pile of envelopes that still hadn't been opened. On the dining room table was a pile high enough to make a statement. There had be at least one thousand letters there!
And gifts! There were so many gifts that it looked like Draco was itching to get his hands on them. He was like a child at his first birthday party. Harry loved seeing him this excited but had asked him to wait. He would have to wave his hand over them to see if any of them were nefarious, and if that was the case, they would have to practice caution. He was taking no chances with the love of his life.
Draco had acquiesced to what Harry had said, but his impatience was starting to show. So much so, that Harry took a few of them to a different part of the Manor, where he did what he said he would do, and found that there was nothing to worry about. All the presents seemed to be of a cheerful nature. When he called Draco telling him that he could open a few, his eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. Harry laughed at his antics, kissed him with a hunger, and left him to do what he so badly wanted to.
After a while, Pansy joined him where he was sitting cross legged on the floor, which was weird in and of itself, because Malfoys don't sit on the floor. But apparently an Omega with a tendency to open gifts did, and so she sat with him, enjoying his child like manner. They both decided on how they were going to sort through them, when Pansy suggested some sort of shelving.
They called Guppy and asked him to assist, and with a snap of his fingers, it had been set up, so they got to work opening the gifts together. "Thanks for letting me help you Draco. I got tired of reading all the bloody letters", she sighed after a while. Draco smiled and asked her what was the gist of them.
"Oh you know. Congratulations in all of them. Most people asking you to please name their children after them, and so on. There was one where a lady offered her services to be godmother to the twins. I thought Harry was going to blow up from the sheer audacity of her. But other than that, nothing exciting".
Draco nodded. He and Harry had never discussed godparents. Fuck, they hadn't even discussed having children. It felt like time was getting away from them. They were going to have to have a serious conversation about everything before the twins came, he thought to himself. "Are you okay Draco", she asked, seeing his sudden change.
Draco licked his lips and replied. "Yes. I was just thinking that Harry and I - we haven't exactly had time to discuss or decide on things like that. It's been a hell of a ride so far". She squeezed his hand, and simply said, "All in good time my friend", to which he nodded and said yes. Their attention on the presents once again, they noticed that all the wrapping paper was either pink, blue or yellow. They didn't know the sex of the babies, and Draco was pretty sure that neither of them wanted to know. It had to be a surprise.
The first present that Draco opened made him squeak so loud, that Harry came rushing in just to make sure that he was okay. With a blush he looked at Harry from where he was sitting on the floor and broke into a fit of giggles. "Harry love", he started but couldn't get any more words out because he was laughing so much.
"Are you insane Draco?", he asked, bending down to his level. "You scared the crap out of me, and why are you laughing".
"The way you came barging in here love, like a hero. My knight in shining armor", he said with adoration, putting his hand on Harry's face and kissing him lightly on the lips.
"If I were a knight Draco, that would make you a damsel in distress. And you are no damsel baby", he said, his voice drooling with sex. Draco sobered up when Harry's voice changed. Gods, he loved the man so much. "Damn right Potter, I am no damsel", he replied, and kissed Harry with an intensity that was best left for their bedroom. Groaning into the kiss, Harry wanted more, but Pansy had other ideas.
Clearing her throat and raising her eyebrows at the indecency of them showing off their affections, she waited for them to break away from the kiss. When they did, Harry bit his bottom lip to not say something that would have no doubt been very sexy. Gathering himself, he asked, "What made you scream like that love?", he asked.
"I didn't scream. I just made an excited sound. There is a difference", he drawled. "Look at how cute this gift is Harry. Just look at it", he said, showing off the present that he had unwrapped just moments ago. Harry smiled at him and saw what his lover was showing him.
It was a onesie. Well there were two of them, and they were gorgeous. A bit presumptuous, but hey, its the thought that counts, right?
One was a dark Slytherin green and the other was a bold Gryffindor red. Both had golden snitches on them, flying around, with the words "Keeper" on the front. Harry looked at them and his heart rate picked up rapidly. They were so tiny.
"Are they really going to be that small?" he asked in a whisper, his eyes going wide.
"Oh Harry, you really are such a sap", said Draco. "And yes they are love. Babies normally are small".
"Bold of them to assume that you will be having a Slytherin and a Gryffindor though", interrupted Pansy with a giggle. "We all know that they will both be Slytherin", she said with a wink, making Harry and Draco laugh. He kissed his husband again, and left them alone, after begging Draco not to make his heart leap out of his chest with every gift that he opened.
