The vision that Harry had seen had been about his family home in Godric's Hollow. How he had seen the door being blasted open, the flash of green light from the killing curse that had ended his father's life, cold, and pale bare feet climbing the staircase to go and kill him and his mother. He had seen the black cloak of Voldemort swirling behind him as he made his way to the first floor, only to become angry when he found the door was closed. He told them how he had seen his mother holding him, and eventually put him back in his crib, standing between him and the evil man that invaded their home. How he had seen yet another flash of light, and his mother crumbling to the floor. This whole vision is what had caused the headache, the pain and him passing out.
The message was clear. "I need to go to Godric's Hollow", he said. "I don't know why it's happened now, but it has. Professor, I thought that Alphas only had visions of what was to come, not of what has already happened?", he asked the Headmaster.
"While this may be true Harry, you are no ordinary Alpha. Perhaps there is unfinished business waiting for you at Godric's Hollow, which is why you had a vision", came the reply.
Harry considered these words and nodded his head. He looked at Draco and put his forehead against his. [Boo, thank you for your offer, but I think I should do this alone] to which Draco replied in a very loud voice, "Out of the question Potter. Take Blaise with you, otherwise you're not going anywhere", making Pansy smile at the way he sounded protective. Harry swallowed and said that if Blaise could accompany him, he would be grateful.
Blaise of course accepted, and they wasted no further time on the matter. They left soon after, and apparated to just on the outskirts of the town. Blaise had seen the way that Harry had been shaking, he had almost felt the tremors that were cursing through his body, and felt very sorry for the man. He really wanted it to be a happy occasion, and hoped that what was about to occur, wasn't going to be a bad thing. For anyone, let alone for Harry. He had already been through so much shit, it could end now, so they could move on.
They reached the town square, where once upon a time there had been a statue of his parents holding onto a baby boy. The boy in the statue didn't have a scar, he remembered. It had been when he and Hermoine had paid a visit to the town, looking for the Sword of Gryffindor. He had visited his parents' graves that same night, and was blown away by the wording on the tombstone. "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death". He remembered how repulsed he had been, but Hermoine being the smart one, had explained what they had meant.
He turned left at the obelisk that was now in the middle of the square and it wasn't long before they reached the house. The right side of the top floor and roof had been blown away. Invisible to muggles, the wizarding world had deemed it prudent to leave the house in it's current state, as a monument to the Potters that had given their lives in the first war.
Harry felt immediate disgust.
How was it possible that he had never paid attention to this. He didn't want his parents to be remembered on how they had died. He wanted them to be remembered that they had died.
His fingers starting to tingle in a way that they hadn't before, and if they had, he had never paid attention to it, he knew at that given moment, that he had to right this terrible wrong, and no one would stop him. No one would question his decision, and even if they did, that would be their own battle that they would have to deal with. Wanting to be alone, but at the same time very grateful that Blaise was with him, he put his hand on the gate leading up to the front door. The sign that had emerged from before, sprung up again, this time with messages to him and Draco.
"Alpha, we salute you"
"We believe in you Harry and Draco"
"Long live the Alpha and his Omega"
And Harry was stunned into silence by what he was seeing. Even Blaise had no words, and put a hand on Harry's shoulder as it to steady him, because the love coming from those words was astounding. After taking a deep breath, they opened the gate and made their way towards the house. Blaise to the left of him, but still with his hand on Harry, in a silent message that he wasn't going anywhere. His Lieutenant knew what Harry wanted to do, and supported him fully, and would stand by him whether anyone dared to ask why or not. His allegiance was to Harry, and that's all that mattered.
They walked up the stairs in silence, and when they reached the bedroom that had been Harry's, he raised his chin in a Malfoy like manner, and waved his hand. Only this time, he spoke the words of the charm, to make it hold for all eternity. This time when the words left his mouth, it was as if the house gave a loud groan, the last it would ever give and righted itself.
"Reparo", he whispered. The roof started to repair, putting wooden beams and nails back in place, the bricks in the wall coming together as one, while the cupboards that had been damaged in the blast were fixed, made to look like there had never been anything wrong with them in the first place. The floor was cleared of all the rubble that had been lying there for god knows how many years, the paint on the wall looked fresh as if it had just been done. The shattered glass from the windows placed themselves back in position with a tinkling sound, forming a whole brand new outlook on the world outside.
The scorch marks on the carpet disappeared, the curtains fluffing out as if they had never known rot and decay from the many years of not being used. The furniture in the house was strong and bold again, the dark wood and the light becoming full masterpieces once more. The dust leaving in a whisper, as if they had been ordered to do so, go and settle someplace else, you do not belong here anymore, while the plumbing and the pipes screeched out in happiness, that finally, finally someone was paying attention to their long time suffering.
The weeds that had become overgrown on the driveway and walkway, shrunk back into the ground, and where there had been flowers before, new and bright colors were emerging from stems and blossoms, as if water had just been added to dry soil. The ivy that was creeping up on the walls was slowly starting to disappear, the cracks in the front door, vanishing without a trace, as if they had never been there in the first place. The little pond out back, with fresh water, had lilies floating and frogs jumping once again.
The whole time while this was taking place, Harry was standing with Blaise on the threshold of his old room, shaking with anger, hate, and then excitement and relief at what was going on around them. As long as the house kept moving, Harry kept shaking. He started to break out in a sweat, and he didn't move for fear of making a mistake. And Blaise never took his hand off of the Alpha, something that Harry was eternally thankful for. Draco had been right again, to insist that someone come with him. Gods, he missed his Omega right now.
When the groans and screeches came to a halt, they just stood there, witnessing what had been done with a simple word and the Alpha's magic. "Wow!", said Blaise. He looked at Harry, and pulled him into a hug. "You are one crazy son of a bitch Harry", he said with love. Harry hugged him back and chuckled at the words.
"Yeah. It had to be done. Thank you for coming with me Blaise, you don't know how much it means to me", he said, his eyes brimming with tears, as he realized he had just wiped away the last scene from his parents' death.
"I do Harry. I do", he answered.
Standing outside the house, he simply named it The Cottage. While they were there, they paid a visit to the graveyard, where Blaise also did a charm, casting a wreath of white lilies and placed them on the tombstone. Harry was elated to have such an understanding Lieutenant, and even more, a friend in Blaise. He told his parents how he was going to be a Papa, and that he would bring his family to come and visit soon.
He told them of the snake bite, the fevers, the visions and everything in between. He told them about having to repair their house, because it was in his eyes, an abomination the way that it had been left. He apologized to them for it taking so long to get his attention, and vowed that nothing like this would ever happen again. He spoke of Draco and how beautiful he was, and how much they loved each other.
He introduced Blaise as his Lieutenant, telling him that it was because of him, that he was still standing, and so turned towards him and shook his hand. Then they smiled at each other, and apparated back to their home.
Back to the Manor.
Back to Draco.
