As usual in my updates, this will not pertain to everyone. (So please no one throw a bitch-fit)
Sure. It's okay if you've done it once, or twice, or even three times. But continuously asking people to follow you on the work of others, is just wrong.
Yeah yeah yeah. You just started your account, and you just wanna get followers and blah blah blah.
But using the popularity of someone's hard work (repeatedly, anyways) is just crazy. Especially when they've got thousands and millions of reads.
A lot of times, that's a specific guideline of an author to they're readers.
"Hey guys, I don't mean to be rude but, can you not ask people to follow you on my work? I don't wanna argue but please?"
And what do a a lot of people do? They go and blatantly ignore it. I mean, I guess if the author's cool with it, GO AND KNOCK YOURSELF THE FUCK OUT!
BUT IF THEY SPECIFICALLY ASK YOU NOT TO, RESPECT THEIR DAMN WISHES.
THIS ISN'T SOME DAMN NETWORKING PARTY, YOU'RE NOT GIVING OUT YOUR BUSINESS CARD.
Now before anyone says, "This is Wattpad and I get to do whatever I want, and you can't control me, I can't be tamed! Blah blah blah", think about the writer.
How the hell would you feel if someone was mooching of your work? If you don't care, fine. But a lot of people do.
And besides, aren't there places on Wattpad where you can go, and socialize, and whatever else?
But what do I know? I'm just a strange teenage girl ranting about a website she's only been on for two years...
But yeah. That's my opinion, try not to get butt-hurt about it.
