Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader

Summary: Y/N finds out Natasha's adorable, but embarrassing secret; she likes pop music.

Warnings: cussing

Word Count: 1k

Everyone saw Natasha as a badass, and it was a well-deserved title.
Her very name evoked fear and respect from people, mostly fear, depending on who the person was.
She had fought alongside the rest of the Avengers during the Battle of New York, Ultron, and singlehandedly took down Dreykov and the Red Room.
She had the ability to take down men twice her size with ease and grace. Her sharpshooting skills were unmatched. She was a professional at intimidating and interrogating the worst criminals who have done unspeakable things.
She was extremely clever, being able to outsmart some of the most intelligent people in the world. The amount of experience she had was unparalleled.
However, under that badass exterior was a normal person who had what she considered to be an embarrassing secret; she absolutely loved pop music.

Natasha would find herself enjoying the generic pop songs that would play on the radio, so much so that she would add them to her playlist.
Of course, no one knew this. Natasha made sure not to let a single soul in on her embarrassing guilty pleasure.
When she was in the car alone, she would unashamedly blast her pop music playlist. The upbeat rhythms of the songs would have her tapping her fingers against the steering wheel. Her head would bob slightly along with the music.
She would listen to various pop artists as she would workout and train on her own. The music gave her the motivation to train a little harder than usual, not that she needed to anyway. The redhead trained more than anyone else on the team.
Natasha always ensured that she had her earphones plugged in whilst listening to her music. She couldn't risk having someone walk in on her training and hearing the songs she was really working out to.
Whenever she'd play music out loud, she made sure to play from a 90s alternative playlist, in order to avoid any embarrassment and taunting.
Seriously, she didn't want anyone to know, not even her girlfriend that she absolutely adored; Y/N L/N.
Part of her didn't want to taint the reputation she had created for herself. She didn't want anyone to see her other than a badass, even if she knew that her music taste wouldn't erase the many things she's done and achieved.
Nat just wanted to play it safe and make sure no one would ever find out, but that all ended one day when you decided to join her during a training session.

Natasha had been lifting weights at one of the many benchpress stations when you waltzed into the room. You were clad in a pair of gym shorts and a tank top as you approached your girlfriend with a smile.
"Hey, honey. Would you mind if I trained too?" Natasha hadn't noticed your presence, the music blasting into her eardrums through the earphones.
You raised your eyebrow at her curiously. As soon as she placed the weight down, she sat up and jumped as she saw you standing there.
Natasha tore the earphones out of her ear and sent you a smile breathlessly.
"Shit, baby. You scared me. What's up?" The redhead asked as she stood up and pulled you into a hug. You didn't mind the fact that she was practically dripping in sweat, you've felt her sweaty body against yours before, under very different circumstances.
"I was asking if I could join you, but you were really wrapped up in your music. What are you listening to, anyway?"
You asked as you pulled away from Natasha's grasp, reaching for her phone that rested on the bench she was just sprawled across.
Natasha acted quickly and grabbed the phone before you could. You raised your eyebrows. You were very suspicious now.
"Defensive, huh? What're you hiding?" You teased as you began to reach for the phone, but Natasha kept it out of your grasp as she walked away from you.
You surprised Natasha when you ran up behind her and tackled her to the floor. The redhead fought back, trying to keep you from grabbing her phone, but ultimately failed.
You were an Avenger too and had the same skillset as Natasha. You were the only person without powers that was capable of overpowering the Russian sometimes.
You were sat on top of Natasha, after rolling around on the ground with her, as you smiled triumphantly.
You pinned her hands above her head with one hand as you opened her phone, seeing as you already knew the passcode.
Your eyes widened as you skimmed through the songs in her playlist. It was all pop music!
Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Sia, Britney Spears, One Direction, and Ed Sheeran? Does she seriously listen to Ed Sheeran?
You couldn't help but laugh as Natasha pouted, her cheeks turning red from the position you were in and also from her embarrassment.
"Aw, baby. Is this what you were hiding? That you're a total pop lover?" You teased your girlfriend who glared at you. You smiled down at her.
"Don't worry, baby... you're a firework." Natasha groaned as you referenced one of the songs on her playlist. Her reaction only made you laugh harder.
"Shut up." Natasha growled as she suddenly flipped you onto your back. She was now on top of you as she snatched the phone from your hand.
You were still laughing, turning red from the intensity of your laughter.
"I'm pretty sure you're the only person I know that actually has Ed Sheeran on their playlist. I didn't realize your were such a softie, babe."
Natasha landed a soft punch on your shoulder before laying down on you, shoving her face into your neck. The vibrations of your laughter against her face had her smiling, despite her mortification.
"Aw, honey. There's nothing to be ashamed of. You're still my little, badass spider. You just have to... shake it off, sometimes! It's totally understandable."
You cooed as you ran your hands through Natasha's hair. You could feel the redhead's warm breath against your skin as she let out a dramatic sigh at the mention of the song she was just listening to.
"Thank you. Please don't tell anyone." Natasha mumbled, disregarding your comment, as you hummed. "Of course. I won't tell a soul."
There was a beat of silence as you both laid on the gym floor, but it was short-lived.
"So... who's your favorite member of One Direction? I definitely think you're a Zayn girl."
