Sitting in the bath Thea had a maid run for me, I cannot stop thinking about the things I saw. My body still shakes, from the horrors. Deciding to climb out of the bath I dry myself and wear the robe provided to me. Once I'm dressed I decide it's best to rest, as it is night and tomorrow hopefully my questions will be answered.

Opening my eyes, I am met by the ceiling, again. I thought to myself rolling my eyes. I struggled to close my eyes at first last night but, after a while, I managed to get some rest. Sitting up I look to the side of me to find him sitting in a chair watching me intently, watching my uneasy expression a smirk curls on his lips. Was he watching me this whole time? "Get dressed and meet me downstairs," is all he says as he makes his way out of the room. I look on the bed to find clothing already set out for me, it's a plain blue dress that has lace around the collar. Getting dressed, I decide to do a simple braid to make my hair look neat. Making my way downstairs I find him, waiting at the bottom of the staircase. "Follow me," he says walking around the staircase, quickly following him we walk down a hallway that too holds many doors. At the end are double doors, opening them we are greeted by a library, with shelves of books filled to the ceiling. There is a large window in the centre of the room that reveals a beautiful tree outside with pink flowers. The window has a sitting area giving off a calming scene. I look to my side to find him staring at me with an unreadable expression. "What were those visions I saw?" I ask, deciding to get straight into it. "That was the beginning," a new voice says, turning around I find Thea entering the library and making her way to sit in a chair. "The beginning of what?" I ask confused. "Madeleine, how do you think your council began?" she asks ignoring my question. I give her a sceptical look before she says, "We already know how it had started but I want to find out what you were taught," "It was created by the four families, the Huxley, Collins, Elwoods and the Bakers." "When did the council form?" she asks "In 1789 that's what the records say," "There was a council long before the one you know of," she says looking at me, then gestures with her hand for me to have a seat on the chair across from her. "Maybe we should start from the beginning," she suggests mostly to herself. "Selene, the creator of the earth and all who live on it gave a single breath, life was born. She had formed men from the soil beneath our feet moulding them into her creation, her own image. A species that would live on the land she made, following the line of fate she had created for each of them." Oh, so we are actually going to start from the beginning. Selene, her name sounds oddly familiar. "She then created the gifted, inferior to humans, people, who had an ability like no other, she had provided to them to look after her world and that included humans. Over the years, humans and the gifted co-existed but, fear always lurks in those who do not understand things. Kings grew weary of the power one gifted held, the fear grew and spread and soon those gifted were the enemy and were burned one by one. Sometimes they got the right ones, but sometimes innocent women lost their lives. Allowing fear to get the better of them, a group of gifted people decided to create a form of protection against humans, as they were forbidden to kill any of them. In creating this new form of protection, an abomination occurred. For a short time, things were under control, but once they had a taste of human blood, it was enough to turn them against their creators. Their insatiable hunger for more grew, nearly wiping out thousands of villages. Soon they attacked those who tried to regain control over these creatures. Fearing the extinction of all, Selene created a species that was half-human and half-beast, Wolfmen to rid the world of these abominations." Wolves as in the story of half man half beast? I can't imagine that they would be normal wolves. "That was when the first council had formed, a council created by the kings, the gifted and the wolves, all joined to protect their loved ones and others from these undead creatures. Some gifted were aware of her true power, others were ignorant and tried to control the wolves, but in the process lost their lives as these creatures could not be controlled. The wolves then abandoned the council as the gifted could not be trusted. Those who played a role in creating the abominations were punished by her and soon it became clear that no one could interfere with her world anymore. The wolves had their territories and the gifted and humans had theirs, which they shared with the abominations.

An agreement was struck between the gifted and the undead. These creatures were allowed to feed on the humans when needed as long as no harm was done to the children." Looking up at me she then says, "The visions you saw, were of how it had started." The information I'm receiving is quite a lot to take in, it's very hard not to believe it considering all that has happened. "So...those women were gifted and what they did to that boy turned him into those things?" I ask trying to make sense of everything. She then gives me a nod. "I'm sure this is a lot to take in," "Well, of course, it's not every day you find out there was another world in this one that was hidden over the years," I say raising a brow. "Yet you don't seem frightened," Fitz says still staring out the window "If the... wolfmen had left the council, what happened to the gifted?" I ask ignoring his statement. "After the creatures were lost to the hunger of blood, the group of gifted who started it all lost their lives to them, the most powerful line being the Baker bloodline," seeing my confused face she then continues. "A mother fearful of her life and her husbands decided to turn her own offspring into an undead, That was the Baker bloodline. With new abilities, the child grew a lot faster than normal and in the end, killed his mother. As for his father, he joined the council in hopes of revenge against his son who killed his love, but when they tried to control the wolves, he lost his own life." The Bakers were gifted people, yet fell down the wrong road.

We were never taught much about the founding of the council except for when it started and its sole purpose. "Who was the boy?" I ask I may know the answer, to it as I stare at him who is standing by the window looking out. His jaw is clenched as his arms are crossed. "You were the boy weren't you?" I ask still staring at him. Turning his head his eyes lock onto mine, they hold no emotion over the topic, did he really not care? "Your Fitz Baker," I say more to myself. "I think we are past greetings, " he says giving staring blankly at me. "You killed your own mother without a second thought," "I know, it was about time the bitch met her fate," he says with venom. I then remember the story of how my family had come to the council, we were descendants of a kingsman. So when my parents had joined the council my father decided to become a hunter in honour of the kingsman who saved the king and so my brothers carried on in our father's footsteps, was the king in danger from the undead? "My family is most definitely human," I say. "Yes definitely, the kingsman of your family bloodline was human he served a king and participated in the council as a hunter," Thea says. "If my bloodline is human and the Bakers were gifted, Which bloodline of the other two families werewolves?" "Well we know that the Elwoods were human, they served as record keepers, except it was only the men who could work there." Yes yes, we all know that men have the advantage of doing far more than women. I thought to myself. "So that means that...the Huxley family were wolfmen?" I say more in question. If it is true that would mean Lucian and his family are not human. "Well, that is where we are unsure as they had left the council.

I wouldn't think they would want to join again," she says giving me a reassuring smile, while I'm sure I look like I've seen a ghost. "Ok, I just have one more question," I say while holding up one finger. "What-" "What has this got to do with you being here," Fitz interrupts me. I then nod my head. "I want you to tell me where the council is hiding," he says as he makes his way to sit next to Thea. Not this again, rolling my eyes I then say "I'm not sharing anything with you," I say daring him with my eyes to ask me again. "Why do you want to find them so badly?" I ask. "I'm not sharing anything with you," he says then gives me a smirk. Using my own words against me, how childish. "Well, if you refuse to tell me I won't let you go home miss Collins," "Then I suppose I'll be here for a while Mr Baker," I say staring right into the eyes of a Devil.
