Staring at the ceiling of the room I woke up in, I start thinking about what I was told. It is very hard to believe that there was a council before that consisted of other species. If these creatures did exist, why haven't there been sightings of them, or does the council keep that hidden from the rest of us? Could Lucian be a wolf? If so does the council know or is he keeping it a secret? So many questions run through my mind and yet the only way I can get answers is to talk to Alexander, but that won't happen anytime soon as I am stuck here in this house. After the whole story, Fitz had left to do some important business. I was threatened that if I tried to escape there would be consequences. The property is secluded nothing but forest surrounding the place, it is however rather beautiful. Sighing I sit up on the bed and stare out the window, the sun is out and the sky is clear for a change in this sad country. "I see you seem to like the garden," I hear jerking my head I find Thea next to me. When did she come inside? "It is very beautiful," I say looking at the flowers and smiling at a memory, of how mother was always in her garden adding and moving plants everywhere. "This is very strange," "I can't say I know how you feel, but I'm sure you have a lot of questions for your council," chuckling I say, "That's if they will actually answer them."
I can't help but wonder if my parents knew about this or were they also in the dark. "I must ask, is it true that you keep some of the undead and torture them?" she asks suddenly catching me off guard. "I wouldn't know, my quarter doesn't know anything except what we are told," "That's right you are a nurse," "Yes, Wait! How did you know that?" I ask raising a brow. "Like I said I know a lot about you," she says giving me a teasing smirk. "If you know what I do, then you know where we are situated," she then nods her head. "If you know, then why don't you tell him so that he can let me go," "You would risk the lives of your council just to leave?" she asks raising a questioning brow. Realising what I had said, I quickly shake my head no. A small laugh escapes her lips. We hear loud shouting coming from somewhere in the house, the voice belongs to a male from his deep voice it was obvious. Exiting the room and following the noise, we walk into the sitting area to find Fitz sitting with one leg crossed over the other with a glass of some substance inside. The one side of his face is stained with, blood, he doesn't pay attention to us but stares at something on the ground. The one couch in front of me blocks my view of whatever it is he is looking at. "Fitz...what are you doing?" Thea whispers. "Leave us," he says never looking up at one of us, Thea then starts to make her way out of the room shutting the door, there is complete silence.
All that is heard is the thumping of my heart. "Tell me where the council hides Madeleine," he says almost in a whisper, this is getting old and by now he should know that I won't say a word. Silence fills the room and it seems to irritate him as his breathing increases. He then gulps the remainder of his glass and rises to his feet, bending down he grabs ahold of something off the floor or rather someone. A young man with black hair carries bruises all over his body and his face, "This here is cole, now cole here is from a very wealthy family, the same family your brothers are in partnership with for the company, the Blackwoods." The Blackwoods are in partnership with our company, that night of the launch was supposed to also be the announcement for the partnership but unfortunately, we did not get that far, he thought that by kidnapping their son he could use him as leverage? How cruel can you get? " How do you think the Blackwoodwood family would react to find their son's body on the steps of their friends, how do you think your brothers would react to find out that you had something to do with this. I see it now, Collins family murder young boy, that could leave a mark in your families reputation well," Fitz says in a suggestive tone slowly looking up at me, a sadistic smile spreads across his face as he sees my shocked one. "Wh- why are you doing this?" I ask, stammering a little at the scene before me.
"I don't have to kill him, all you have to do is tell me where the council is." For a few moments I don't say anything and that seems to increase his irritation because he then penetrates the boy's chest with his own hand, earning a scream from both the boy and my lips. Blood quickly pours from his mouth, his blue eyes never leaving mine as they beg for me to speak. Yet I can't as I have no idea as to what he wants from the council. "All I have to do now is pull out his heart and his misery will be over," Fitz carries on. Cole tries to grab ahold of Fitz's hand yet his body is very weak. "Tik Tok Madeleine," he says, I don't know what to do I feel helpless at this moment, the only thing I can really do is lie but I have a feeling that will backfire very quickly. In truth, the council is located in an abandoned factory just above an old coal mine. It is the only non-operating mine in all of London, reason why nobody ever found us was due to the Elwoods purchasing the land for a 'project'. "Please just leave him be," I plead. "Why don't you just tell me, it was not too long ago that you found out that they kept a serious secret from you and yet you still help them," he says, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
It is because I want answers that I still defend them and if something were to happen anyway of receiving those answers will be gone. "Fine you won't tell me, then answer me this, the Huxley family is there someone by the name of Lucian?" Lucian? What does he want with Lucian? Looking into his eyes realisation hits him as he reads my expression which may have given it away. He then turns to the boy and retracts his hand earning a groan from cole. He then stands to his full height and makes his way toward me, instinctively I start to move backwards. My heart dips as I fall backwards onto the couch behind me, I quickly look up to find him staring at me with an amused look on his face. "Thank you, Ms Collins, I will have someone take you home," is all he says then makes his way out of the room opening the door he turns and says "Our interaction must remain quiet, until next time Ms Collins," "Why don't you just kill me, that's what you all do, you have your answer why not kill me?" I suddenly ask. Sighing he turns to fully face me, "Then I would have no one to play with," is all he says then walks out.
