Madeleine:

"Oh what about this one," I hear Grace say but my mind is elsewhere for me to even focus on dress hunting. Alexander had dresses brought to me, Lucian says it would be safer to stay home and continue wedding preparations. Like an obedient child, I simply nodded. "Madeleine!" she says pulling me out of my thoughts. "That one is lovely yes," I say with a smile. She then sighs and puts the dress down, "Your wedding is in a few days, where is your head?" she asks with worry. A few days from now I will marry Lucian and all will fit into place for him, Fitz has not been seen for quite a while but Thea has paid us a few visits surprisingly. All of the talks have mostly revolved around me, asking how I am and so on. I have a feeling she could be asking for Fitz. "How can I think of a dress right now Grace, Fitz is nowhere to be seen and Lucian's plan starting to fall into place." I rest my face in my hands.

"Are you still angry with Fitz?" Yes and no, I hate what he did but I worry about him, I had a feeling something wasn't right two nights ago. I have never felt anything like it, I felt like my heart was ready to burst out of my chest.

Hearing muffled voices I turn to a confused Grace. "Do you hear that?" I walk to the door of the library and lean against it hoping to hear who is hear. Hearing them continue to talk I hear Alexander along with Nathaniel, but who are they talking to? We weren't expecting any visitors today.

"Look throw the whole woman." Grace joins me at the door, squatting I line my eye with the key whole. I feel Grace push against me as she holds her ear to the door. "Do you mind?" I look up irritated. Giving an apologetic smile she backs away a little. I see the back of Alexander. "Well, do you see anything?" I shake my head as I wait for them to move for me to see our guest.

Sighing I face Grace, I have not been able to see the guest and have now decided to give up. "Nothing?" "All I see is the back of Alexander," I slump my shoulders in defeat.

The door knob shakes behind me and soon the door opens revealing an angry Alexander. "What is it?" I ask watching his expression, who was that that made him angry? "We received news that they caught him." "And by him do you mean." He simply nods. Sucking in needed air I try and calm my heart, they couldn't have caught him so easily. So what did they do? "We must go, they decided to start the trial early." With that Alexander, Grace, Nathaniel and I make our way to the headquarters.

The whole place is crowded with everyone rushing around preparing for the trial. I cannot help the panic I feel so I busy myself by helping bandage the wounded and carrying new supplies to the medical quarters.

"Everyone stand back!" A hunter shouts at the entrance. Everyone rushes to either side of the room as more hunters come in. I stand there holding supplies, I should make my way back but I need to see him. Soon they enter, and two hunters hold him while he struggles to walk with the chains and their fast paces. I notice his chest is open, I gasp dropping the supplies in shock. I gain a few stares but I am too stunned at the site to focus on them. What did they do to him? The site reminds me of when he was a boy and what they did to him. His eyes catch mine and my world stops, he looks, scared. For the first time, I see an emotion run through them a genuine one. They soon disappear behind closed doors. Looking back at the entrance I find Lucian looking as proud as ever. How did he catch him?

He walks up to me and then bends down to pick up my things, breathing has become difficult all of a sudden. His blue eyes connect to mine, darkness swarms in his. He leans forward his lips brushing my ear, "Go and stitch him up and say your goodbyes, that is the only mercy I'll allow you.

Soon the crowd disperces and everyone goes back to work while they wait for the trial to take place.

Rushing I take the necessities and ask Grace to distract my brothers if they were to ask for me. A hunter accompanies me as we make our way to the cells where they hold the worst undeads there. Opening the doors the place smells of sewage, it's quiet and wet down here. Walking down the spiral stairs we make our way all the way down. Walking past the cells one by one I notice each one is full. The bars are rusted and some of the prisoners look dead, but that's simply the state they land up in if they haven't fed for a very long time. A state of paralysis, their bodies can't move at all and they stay that way forever unless given human blood.
