Chapter: Four

"Since you're both up, let's go see Henry and Megan," Mattie suggested as soon as she'd seen that.

"We were actually going to ask you to go with us," I informed her.

"Okay, well, I'll go. I think they need us," Mattie said thoughtfully.

I hadn't seen them since I'd woken up, and I wanted to see them and make sure they were okay. The last I'd seen of them, I knew they'd killed people and I knew they were having a very tough time. I wasn't sure what I could do to help them, but I was going to try. They'd done so much to help me, I had to return the favor. We were just about to head out when Lily paused.

"Wait, shouldn't we tell someone where we are?" Lily questioned.

"Shoot you're right. They'll be worried and we don't need to do that right now," I agreed.

"So then, who should we tell?" Mattie questioned.

"Maybe-

"I hope you ladies are planning on telling someone. I don't recall anyone giving you permission to go anywhere. It's still dangerous, and it's also still the holidays. I'll need an explanation," Victor spoke, stopping us in our tracks.

"We're going to see Henry and Megan," I revealed.

"You are? You think they want your company right now?"

"They need someone to be there for them," Mattie argued.

"That's going to be you three? Well, you can't give them what they really want back, which is their precious son. Yet you'd rather go be their shoulder to cry on?"

"They need us," Lily explained.

"Need you? This coming from the girl who can't even be with her boyfriend right now. The poor lad really has gone downhill since he met you."

"He hasn't gone downhill," she snapped.

"Yes, that's right. He retained those emotions when he killed your precious Ty, didn't he?"

"Stop it," she glared angrily.

"Don't be that angry. At least you haven't ruined their lives as much as Britt's ruined Liam and Niles."

"Victor enough. She hasn't ruined mine."

My eyes snapped over to Niles as he appeared in front of us, his eyes meeting mine briefly before he turned to Victor. "If they want to go visit someone, it should be allowed. They'll be safe there," he assured him.

"If you say so. The way little Britt here is a magnet for danger, I wouldn't be so sure."

"That's why I'll be going with them."

That seemed to make Victor smirk and me frown. "No offense, but I'm not sure Britt wants you going with them." He expressed, eyeing me.

I held my tongue as I was ready to open my mouth and agree with him, but I didn't. First of all, I just didn't want to agree with him about anything. I knew Niles just wanted to protect us and I didn't want to be cruel to him. I'd think everyone who could be a danger to us was dead, but I couldn't be sure.

We didn't need to lose anyone else, and I didn't want us getting hurt. So I decided it would probably be okay to have him accompany us. I doubted we'd be getting out of here without a guardian, anyway. Considering he was my guardian, might as well be him.

"I understand that, but I have to keep them all safe. I could ask Liam or Zeke to accompany you, but right now, I don't think you want to see them, and Louis is busy. I'm just about the only choice you have."
