Chapter: Eight

"You don't need to go there right now. As upset as you are, it's only going to upset them."

Liam's words barely seemed to register with me. After the ordeal, I'd just been through and the way he held me, I wanted nothing more than to leave here and get away from all of them. The visions had disturbed me for many reasons and I wasn't ready to acknowledge what happened with Liam, either. My head was pounding too much to even begin to consider what this all meant.

"I don't want to stay here either," I sniffed.

"You clearly aren't feeling well, so you might need to just crash here," Louis offered.

"If it's okay with Henry, of course," Clary interjected.

"Of course it is. She's always welcome here," he insisted.

That may be true, but I didn't want to impose, and I didn't need to be here right now. My own state was bad enough right now, and Henry needed to focus on taking care of his wife and not me. I wouldn't let him waste time on me, nor would I jeopardize e their marriage moving forward.

"That's alright-

"You don't want to be around us right now so we can leave," Niles spoke.

"Good cause I don't want you here," I lied, hoping my words sliced him as much as his yelling had to me.

"Just because you say something in anger doesn't mean you truly feel that way," he responded.

"Just shut up," I snapped.

Everyone seemed surprised at my attitude and so was I. Niles's expression seemed the most surprised and looking at his expression made it difficult to be as angry at him as I was.

"You're being awfully moody, considering all we've done for you and all he's done for you," Zeke glared.

"How about you focus on your own problems with Lily right now?"

His expression changed to one of anger, and I knew I shouldn't have said that. I was attempting to get everyone to come together and preaching its importance and here I was causing more drama between us. I sniffed once more and sighed, turning to Zeke.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that," I apologized.

"Watch yourself, O'Neill. Don't think we're friends or that I excuse you for talking down to me or him after all we've done."

Somehow, I thought that was his way of telling me he accepted my apology. He certainly didn't have to when I was the one who shouldn't have mentioned anything about Lily. That was a low blow on my part and I was ashamed. I should never have said something like that or yelled at Niles.

"Relax Zeke, it's alright. I snapped at her first, so I deserve it," Niles insisted, looking at the ground.

I wanted to tell him that he didn't, but I held back. If I didn't find somewhere to lay soon, I was probably going to pass out. I was just too drained and too confused to feel much of anything right now. A good night's sleep would do me good and the one way I could do that was at a hotel.

"I need to go," I insisted.

"Britt, there all supposed to be resting after the day we've all had. I texted Tamron to check on Max and she's already sound asleep, as is Aubrey. He and Lily are both exhausted and planning to head to bed themselves. It's late and they don't need to wait up for you. Besides that, you need your rest. I can take you to see them in the morning, but right now, we all need some rest," Liam insisted.
