Third Person
The ride to Batangas was comfortable, the radio played some music of today's generation that Irene and Greggy could not really relate to.
They've searched for other stations but still ended up connecting their phones to the car and just played their old songs.
"Maybe the old songs
Will bring back the old times"Great... This song... He thought to himself as he stared outside the window. Looking at the cars that they passed and just admiring the view.
"Maybe the old lines will sound new
Maybe she'll lay her head on my shoulder"Irene and Greggy kept their distance between them. Just a safe distance in the center as they looked through their windows. Their hands were now with themselves and not to each other.
"And maybe old feelings will come through..."
He turned his head and glanced at Irene. She was fluttering her eyes, trying to stay away the whole ride. He knew that she would get sleepy if they go on long rides.
"Uh... Rin?" He cleared his throat and looked at her. She turned her head and blinked, "Yes? Yes..." She smiled.
He smiled at her and scooted just a little towards her, "Do you want to sleep? You can lay your head oj my shoulder..." He suggested.
"Oh... Uh... Okay lang naman ako..." She smiled, "Oh... Sige... Just tell me..." He returned to his original place and stared again on the window.
Irene pressed her lips together and turned her head away from Greggy and just laid her head on car door. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep, but the vibration of the engine could be felt on her head.
She huffed in place and shifted to find a comfortable spot. But to no avail, she still couldn't sleep. Her last resort? Greggy.
She then gulped down, "Uh... Rio..." She bit her lip as she whispered shyly. His eyes looked at hers as he held up an eyebrow, "Uhm... Ano kasi... Uh... Can I-uh... Wag... Wala pala..." She chuckled nervously as she turned away from him and shut her eyes off.
"Hey..." He called. "Hmm?" She hummed, still not facing him.
A hand then touched her shoulder, after that, she felt his arm draped over her shoulders as he pulled her to him. "Diba? I told you to just tell me if you want to sleep..." He smiled.
"I hope you're okay with it?" She looked at him timidly. "Ikaw pa nga nagsabi... Para ka namang hindi ko asawa..." He winked.
Irene blushed at this and then immediately hid her face from his gaze. "Ah... Sige, wake me up na lang pag nakarating na tayo..." She mumbled.
"Sure, Ai..." He whispered. "Sleep well..." He kissed the top of her head.
Irene just widened her eyes on the action then proceeded to droop her eyes closed and let herself fell into deep slumber.
Greggy, on the other hand, was admiring Irene's features. Though he knew he had already memorized every inch of her, there were still things that has changed over the course of them being separated.
Like how her eyes hasn't shine that much like when they were still together. Or how her eyes don't smile when she does just like before. Or the fact that isn't that impulsive anymore.
Even when they've assumed that they knew everything about each other, he could still find something new about her everyday. And that's what make Irene unique for him.
He was drowned to his own thoughts to notice that he has been staring at his wife for how many minutes passed.
Kuya Ron kept glancing on the rear view mirror to take notes of what happened to update the children (ALUISA) later on. He was grinning like a teenage boy, feeling as if he was watching a romantic drama.
