"You cut your hair," Mei stated as she entered the classroom. Izuku peered over her shoulder to see Abiko's long black hair was now in a pixie cut.
"Yeah, finally came out to my parents a few nights ago. I've been wanting to cut my hair for ages. I was always too afraid to do it because I wasn't sure how they'd react, but they didn't seem to care. Turns out cutting my hair is a bigger deal to my mother than coming out." Abiko replied as she ran her hand through her hair. "Does it look bad?"
"I think it looks great!" Izuku said enthusiastically as he went to his seat. "Now you won't have to put your hair up when we work in the lab."
"Came out?" Mei asked, seeming confused. "Came out of what?"
"... the closet?" Abiko replied, an equally confused look on her face. In the background, Takahashi was giggling into his palm.
"Why were you in the closet?"
"Mei, I'm gay."
"What does that have to do with you hiding in a closet?"
"Well, as fun as this conversation sounds, it's time for homeroom to begin." Mei took her seat as their teacher took his spot in front of the class. "Just a quick poll, are there any students who plan on focusing on hero costume design when they graduate?"
Izuku quickly raised his hand before looking around the room. Abiko was the only other person with her hand up. She turned and smirked at Izuku when she saw his hand.
"Perfect, there have been a few students in class 1-A and 1-B who are considering making major changes to their costumes," Power Loader continued. "We would usually just take their requests, but some of them don't know what they want yet. A third year is gonna be coming by shortly, his name is Isaac Hall. You two are gonna go with him to one of the meeting rooms to help the hero students decide on the best costume design."
"Isaac... Hall?" Mei asked, her confusion back. "That's an odd name."
"Thanks, I guess." Izuku looked to the door to see a tall boy with dark brown hair and vibrant blue eyes. "I'm here to take some of your students." Power Loader gestured for Izuku and Abiko to stand, and they did so while grabbing their bags.
Once they got into the hall, the boy turned to them and gave a small smile. "This might be a weird question, but are you the same Izuku Midoriya that represented Japan during the I-Island contest?" A deep blush came across Izuku's face as he nodded. "I thought so, I wouldn't expect you to recognize me, but I was Canada's representative." Hall stretched out his hand for Izuku to shake. "Isaac Hall, it's nice to meet you."
Izuku quickly took his hand shaking it enthusiastically. "Oh my gosh! It's an honour to meet you Hall-senpai! I look forward to learning from you!" Izuku quickly lowered into a bow. Hall chuckled lightly before turning to Abiko.
"And what's your name?"
"Abiko, it's a pleasure to meet you senpai." Abiko replied, lowering into a smaller bow.
"Mhm, I'm really excited to have both of your inputs. I've looked at some of the original costume designs and.... well let's just say there's lots of room for improvement." They entered the meeting room they'd be using and Izuku saw five mannequins with different costumes. Izuku recognized four of them as Todoroki's, Yaoyorozu's, Ojiro's and Hagakure's.
"Is that a block of ice? Please tell me that's not a block of ice. And that! That's just a pair of gloves and shoes! Oh my god please tell that is not a woman's costume. Her whole chest would be exposed!" Izuku was surprised to see Abiko so riled up. Out of all of his friends, she was usually the most cool and collected, but now she was on a full tangent as she looked at the costumes.
