6: Ang seryoso ni heneral!

Moni's eyes widened as she dropped her spoon.

She took a step backwards.

A hand sealed her mouth, it was none other than Vivie's.

"Manahimik ka, you really had the guts to call me that." Vivie's patience running out.

Vivie exerted a bit of force, and Moni was pushed back a little by the slender hand.

"Aray!"

Moni then looked at the scene below.

"Hala! Sayang yung pagkain!" lumuhod si Moni at pinulot ang mga nahulog na pagkain. "Ang seryoso mo naman kasi eh!"

Vivie ignored her and continued to eat.

After throwing the food that fell, Moni finally sat back and watched Vivie eat the greens she ordered, as she watched, her chin rested on her hand.

"How can this be...our tastes are so different, I like deep flavours while you like mild ones..." Moni said in a lazy manner.

"Every person is different."

But then, Moni's eyes lit up as she had an idea, immediately, she grinned and a sinister light appeared in her eyes.

Ng hindi napansin ni Vivie, ang kutsara na isusubo niya sana sa bunganga niya ay may isang mapula na sili.

Pumula ang kanyang magandang mukha.

Cough, cough.

"Tubig...tubig..." sabi ni Vivie ng mahina.

"Heneral!" Moni exclaimed.

But in reality,

In Moni's mind,

Heh, buti nga sayo!

But in the outside, Moni still gave Vivi a glass of water.

"Ito, uminom ka!" pagabot ni Moni.

Kinuha ni Vivie and baso mula kay Moni at ininom ito ng malalim.

At sa ganyan, kumalma si Vivie. But she still rubbed her forehead.

Seeing this, Moni asked, "What's wrong?"

Moni touched Vivie's forehead.

It was blazing hot.

Sa totoo, kanina nung tinakpan ni Vivie ang bibig ni Moni, akala ni Moni imagination niya lang na malamig yung kamay na iyon, pero nung kinuha ni Vivie ang baso sa kanyang kamay, malamig naman ito muli.

Then she confirmed that Vivie had a fever.

Moni escorted Vivie to her bed and made her lie down, "Hantay ka lang dito."

Bumalik siya ng ilang sandali na may baldeng laman ng mainit na tubig, at isang twalya.

Ipupunas sana ni Moni ang noo ni Vivie pero pinalo ito ni Vivie.

"Wag na."

"Yan ka naman ba ulit! Alagaan mo nga ang sarili mo, kung hindi mo yan kaya, hayaan mo nalang ang ibang tao mag-alaga sayo!" Moni scolded.

Vivie sighed and finally let Moni wipe her.

Moni thought, this woman, she never cares about herself at all.

Last time she injured herself, and this time she overworked herself, but in both times, she didn't bother asking for help.

She preferred shouldering her problems alone.

"Diba sinabi ko naman sayo pag may problema ka, pwede mo naman akong tanungin?"

Vivie was a bit speechless, she didn't know what to say, she wasn't used to someone taking care of her like this, and she was both shocked and confused.

Under the dim candel light, Moni finsihed wiping and covered Vivie with a blanket.

"Don't be stubborn this time, go sleep, go!"

Vivie humphed, with no other choice, she shut her eyes.

Inihip ni Moni ang kandila at ang kwarto ay dumilim, bumalik siya sa may igahan, umupo sa sahig sa tabi ng igahan, at pinatong niya ang ulo niya dito para matulog.

Nang makita ito ni Vivie, tinanong niya, "Ano pang ginagawa mo dito?"

"Para bantayan ka..." Moni murmered.

After a long silence, Vivie moved to the other side of the bed, and mustered up her courage to ask, "You..."

"What is it..." Moni sleepily asked.

"You can sleep here."

"Huh?" Binuksan ni Moni ang mata niyang inaantok pa at tiningnan si Vivie.

Vivie's hand was patting the side of the bed. "On here."

Moni's eyes instantly lit up, "Really!?" as if all her sleepiness disappeared in the wind.

Vivie nodded and Moni hop on the bed, then shared the same blanket where Vivie was also under.

In a short while, Moni asked, "Heneral, are you still awake?"

"Oo, bakit?"

"Nothing, I just feel happy." Moni smiled.

"Happy?"

"Dati kasi, sa sahig lang ako pinapatulog ng aking pinsan at tita," Moni said. "Maagang namatay ang aking mga magulang, kaya kinakailangan kong manira sakanila."

"..."

Moni continued, "Ayaw saakin ng aking pinsan at tita, so they treat me harshly, and I would sleep alone on the floor, but they atleast fed me and gave me clothes."

"You little bitch! Buti ka pa nga nakakatira ka pa dito, kung hindi lang yan sa nanay mong puta!"

"Ako na ang nagpapakain sayo! Punasin mo ang buong sahig ulit!"

"Wala kang pagkaiba sa katulong, kaya wala kang karapatan makikaibigan ng mga kaibigan ko!"

"Nung nakakuha ako ng freedom manira mag-isa, ako rin mag-isa nakahiga sa sarili kong igahan, mag-isa sa buong buhay."

"Why are you telling me this?" Vivie asked.

"Masaya lang akong katabi ka, heneral!" Moni hugged Vivie.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing!?" Vivie pushed her away.

After a while, Vivie said, "There's a traitor."

"Hmm?"

"There's a traitor from one of us, leaking our plans, I discovered it earlier."

Moni already knew, but she still asked, "Who is it?"

"Hindi ko pa alam, pero isa rin siya sa mga tauhan natin." sabi ni Vivie. "Tomorrow I will announce this, and the upcoming 2nd battle too."

When Moni heard this, her heart fell. 2nd battle? Won't this general die cruelly under so many eyes? Moni haven't spotted anything evil within this person, could it be there is something wrong? Even tho this woman might be so fierce outside, but she is actually someone really nice. 

After a long silence, Moni suddenly spoke, "Please be careful."

"What?"

"Promise me you would be alright in war. Promise me that, in every battle, you will come out healthy and well."

"..."

"Sure, I promise."
