Belle woke to the sound of someone shouting. She turned uncomfortably and noticed that Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie were nowhere around. She picked up her stuff, latched her pokeballs on, and threw her backpack around her shoulder. She stood up to look for them and quickly spotted them outside the Pokemon Center. Opening the doors she walked out and heard someone say something about blasting again and followed their gaze towards the sky. She saw a couple of people flying off. Her gasp caught their attention.
"Are those people okay?" Belle exclaimed, now looking towards them.
"Oh, that's just Team Rocket," Ash explained. "They like to try and steal other people's Pokemon."
Belle looked to Ash and then back up again. Anyone going that high in the air must be in for a rude landing. She frowned and decided that since she was awake, it was a good time to move on with her journey. "I see," she responded. "Well, I am going to head off. I have a few things to do before I head over to Santalune City," Belle exclaimed, smiling at her new friends.
"I guess we will see you soon then," Clemont chimed. "We are going to be heading to Santalune City after breakfast."
"I look forward to it," Belle said, extending her hand out to Clemont and Ash. Bonnie embraced her, she returned the embrace and smiled at them all. "See you all real soon!"
"Maybe soon the two of us can have a Pokemon battle!" Ash exclaimed.
"I think that can be arranged," Belle smiled. "Bye!" She said, waving as she left.
Belle walked towards the direction where the people flew off. She couldn't help but be concerned. Even if they were bad, or stole people's Pokemon. No one deserved to get hurt like that. Heading straight in the direction they flew off led her into a forest. She knew that all she had to do was turn left and follow the path for it to head to Santalune City, so she didn't mind exploring for a while. It didn't take her much longer to find them. There was a guy, a girl, and a Meowth all tangled in a tree up above. All of them seemed to be knocked out. She frowned and tried to brainstorm a plan in her mind. An idea came to her. Quietly she lifted her leg and shifted it slightly, she kicked up her Pokeball and quietly called Grovyle. Grovyle looked at her curious. Then again, she lifted her leg and kicked up a different Pokeball, and called out Altaria. "Grovyle," she whispered. "See those three up there?" He nodded as she turned his head and located the people she was referring to. "I don't want to wake them, but we need to get them down. Altaria, I need you to help carry them down gently when we do, okay?" They both nodded in understanding. She watched from behind the tree as her Pokemon did as they were directed. When the two people and the Meowth were down safely, she returned both Pokemon and strapped them back onto her leg. Reaching in her bag, she grabbed her oversized jacket. She used it during rougher weather and to keep hidden in areas with more dangerous Pokemon. The white hooded jacket covered her eyes and hung down her mid-thighs. Reaching in her bag again she pulled out a first aid kit. She walked over to the Meowth first.
There were no serious injuries, only a small scrape on its tail. She put some medication on it and bandaged up the scrape before moving over to the girl. Belle was surprised by how little damage they seemed to take. The girl had a bruise on her knee. She wrapped a small ice pack and put it on top of it. Then, she moved over to the guy. His blue hair had covered his face. Using her fingers, she gently pushed aside the strands of hair that were covering his face. Blush emerged in her cheeks when she caught sight of him. A small smile emerged on her face. The guy was incredibly handsome. She took a deep breath and looked over him, frowning when seeing a cut on his arm. His wound seemed the worst of the three of them. Carefully, she cleaned it out and put medicine over it, and bandaged it up. She sighed, looking down over him. Picking up her first aid kit, she walked back over to her bag. "They'll be hungry when they wake up," she whispered to herself. She looked over and spotted several berry bushes nearby. She nodded and walked over to them, using a small bag she had to put them in. Once it was filled, she placed it next to them and then walked over and stocked up her own supply. Belle put her backpack back on. Her eyes returned to the guy again. She looked over and saw the Meowth move, her heart jumped and she quickly took shelter behind the berry bushes, peering out over them.
"What happened?" The Meowth asked looking around confused. Her eyes widened, and she had to cover her mouth to withhold the gasp. She knew that Meowth just spoke, how, she had no idea, but it did. She watched as he looked confused at the bandage on his tail. Then, he stood up and looked over at the other two laying beside him. "Hey! Wake up!" he exclaimed, nudging them with his paws. They both moaned as they sat up.
"Where are we?" The girl asked, looking down at the ice pack on her knee. "Who did this?"
"I don't know," Meowth replied. "I had this bandage on my tail."
"James, what about you?" The girl asked the blue-haired boy.
"James," Belle thought, unable to hold back her goofy smile.
"I don't know, Jessie, but I have a bandage on my arm too." He looked ahead. "Look," he said gesturing towards the berries. "Who would do all of this; and for us?"
"Who cares!" Jessie exclaimed, "let's eat!"
Belle watched as they divided the berries between the three of them. The girl and the Meowth dug right into the food, but James observed the berries before doing the same. When eating he looked around. "I just don't get why someone would help us?" James questioned, aloud.
"Let's just be happy they did. Well, you finish up, Meowth and I will go see if we can't find our balloon," Jessie exclaimed.
James nodded as he watched the two of them leave. He slowly ate the berries and looked around. It wasn't much longer than he was done eating. He stood up. "Well, I don't know who you are, or why you helped us, but, thank you," he said smiling. "I know it's not much, but this is for you." He reached into an inside pocket of his shirt and pulled out a rose. Carefully, he laid it on the ground. Belle looked down at the rose and then back up at him, as she peered through the berry bushes. He smiled again, causing the blush in her cheeks to return. He walked off, calling out for the girl and the Meowth. She was about to stand when she saw him stop. He leaned down and picked something up. Her heart sunk when she saw what it was. Touching her hands to her head, she realized her headband fell off. He smiled at it and looked around, tucking it into his pocket. Afterward, he walked off.
"Oh, Diglett's!" Belle exclaimed in frustration. Belle looked over to the rose. She sighed and stood up. She carefully picked it up and smiled as she stared at the vibrant red rose. Holding it close to her chest, she couldn't help the sick feeling in her stomach, or the blush that became more prominent in her cheeks. Reaching in her backpack, she pulled out her journal and pressed the flower inside. She heard a strange sound and looked up to see a Meowth-shaped balloon floating away. The girl, guy, and Meowth were inside and seemed to be heading for Salatune City. "Well, until we meet again," Belle whispered. Smiling at the balloon.
