Belle's head jerked up. Frantically, she looked around, her breathing erratic. Belle had been tied to a chair, her legs and waist were tied directly to the chair and her arms behind her. Her mouth was covered, but her eyes were left visible. "I have to find a way to open my Poke'balls," she thought. Looking down, her heart dropped. All of her Pokeballs were missing. The revelation caused her to panic, she thrashed around in the chair. She tried to loosen the ropes, but only ended up knocking the chair over, causing her to hit the floor of the truck hard. The truck stopped. The noise must've caught the driver's attention. Belle swallowed nervously when she saw the wall of the truck lift up. The light from outside blinded her, but once her eyes adjusted she made out the figures in front of her. Standing in front of her were Jesse and Meowth.

"Well, I see you're awake," Jesse chuckled. "Did we have an accident?" Belle looked away ashamed she allowed them to catch her like this. She looked up at them and started to yell at them asking them what they did with her Pokemon, but her voice was muffled. They both laughed at her.

"No point in trying, no one can hear you with that bound in your mouth," Meowth taunted.

"There you guys are!" James called out from behind Jesse and Meowth. Belle looked up recognizing the voice that came behind them. Jesse and Meowth quickly blocked the view of her, that's when she realized James didn't know about this. "I've been looking for you guys everywhere! What's the big assignment that you had to rush and leave me for?" He asked.

"The boss just asked us to deliver a truck to him and as quickly as possible, that's all!" Jesse said with a short laugh.

"A truck is what you left me for?" James questioned, obviously skeptical.

"That's right!" Meowth added with the same hesitancy as Jesse.

Belle knew James was her only chance. She thrashed around hoping that she'd make some noise and with luck, she got the chair to screech. "What was that?" James asked.

"What was what?" Jesse questioned with another hesitant laugh.

"Okay, you're hiding something," James said, moving them out of the way. He made eye contact with her. Belle immediately looked away, embarrassed. "What is going on here?" James exclaimed, looking to Jesse and Meowth.

"Bosses orders," Jesse explained.

"What does he want with her?" James asked, looking back towards Belle.

"He wants her Pokemon and he wants to convert her to Team Rocket. Apparently, your girlfriend is quite the power trainer," Meowth stated.

"I'm not going to let you guys do this. She saved us so many times already," James stated.

"It's the job, James. We don't get to pick and choose," Jesse stated.

"I don't care!" James exclaimed. Belle's heart raced to hear him defend her. She knew he would help her. He turned around to go towards her when suddenly he stopped. A moment later he fell to his knees and then his head was just a few inches in front of hers, but he was no longer awake.

"Sorry James, we can't have you interfere," Jesse sighed.

Belle watched as Jesse and Meowth tied up James in a similar situation as Belle, but they left his mouth uncovered. Jesse came over and sat Belle up and across from James. She reached down and took off the cover on her mouth. "Please," Belle pleaded. "Please, not my Pokemon. Please. I will go with you willingly if you send them back to my father. Please. They don't deserve this!" She exclaimed.

"I'm sorry," Jesse whispered. "Bosses orders."

"I helped you guys, can't you help me too? Just say I escaped. Please, please!" Belle pleaded, unable to stop the tears that fled her eyes.

"I'm sorry," Jesse replied, before walking out of the truck.

It soon got dark again when the door of the truck was shut. Belle couldn't help the tears as they were shed uncontrollably now. She looked up and saw James right in front of her. They were just a few inches apart, their knees practically touching. "Hey, it'll be okay," James whispered.

She looked up, surprised by him waking up so quickly. She figured they probably hit her with a higher dose than they did him. "What did I do to make your boss target me?" Belle whispered. "My Pokemon did nothing wrong. They trust me to take care of them and I've let them all down."

"They'll be okay. Everything will be okay, I promise," James said, trying to give her a reassuring smile.

"I'm not sure your right. Your friends tied you up to complete this mission. It's obvious they're serious about this." Belle said, unable to look at him.

"You care a lot about your Pokemon, don't you?" James said with a smile.

"I've been training for years. After we came in fourth in our first league I told them we'd form the ultimate team and train so that we'd be unstoppable. Then, I let myself get distracted from that goal," Belle stated.

"I know what it's like to be distracted from a goal," he said, causing her to look up at him. "I've never backed away from trying to take the twerps Pokemon until, well, you."

"I let my guard down and now look what's happened," Belle whispered, feeling ashamed.

"You let yourself feel something. You're on a journey for more than just a gym badge or league win. You're here to discover yourself and maybe discover." He stopped himself and looked away.

"What do you think of me?" Belle asked, causing him to blush.

"Wh-what?"

"Am I crazy?" She asked, now unable to take her gaze off of him.

"Yeah," he said with a chuckle. "Though, so am I. Look, I promise I will get you out of here."

"I don't care about me," she said. "Just get my Pokemon to safety, please."

"I will get you all to safety, but we might have to do a bit of acting," he explained.

"Yeah, I get it," Belle said with a small smile.

"Belle," he started. Hearing him say her name made her body go weak. She met his gaze. "After I get you out of this. We have to end this, whatever this is, for good."
