Belle got a late start that morning. The Pecha berry hadn't completely healed her, but luckily Nurse Joy had a few more on hand, that finally helped Belle feel better. "You need to be more careful around Beedrill, dear. They are dangerous!" Nurse Joy exclaimed.

"I know. Wrong place at the wrong time, I guess," Belle sighed. "Well, how do my Pokemon look, Nurse Joy?"

"Your Pokemon are all in amazing shape. I can tell you hold them to a high standard."

"I do, but no less than I hold myself too," Belle explained.

Nurse Joy smiled and looked behind her when the music went off signaling that the check-up was completed. A moment later, Nurse Joy returned with Belle's Pokemon. "Your Pokemon are all ready! Good luck at the Santalune Gym!"

"Thank you, Nurse Joy," Belle exclaimed strapping her Poke'balls back onto her ankle. "I'm sure I'll be back tonight, but the next time, I'll have a new gym badge," Belle winked and gave a confident smile.

Belle walked over to the Santalune Gym. When she arrived, she took a deep breath before entering. "Hello?" She called out. "I'm Belle of Celadon City and I'm here to challenge the gym leader!"

"Well, step on in," a girl said.

Belle stepped in and smiled at the blonde girl in front of her. Her hair was bunched up, and she had a camera strapped around her neck.

"My name is Viola," the gym leader exclaimed. "What's yours?"

"I'm Belle. Belle Starr."

"Well, Belle. Shall we get started?"

"Ready when you are!"

"Alright, it will be a two-on-two match," the referee called out. "Only the challenger can switch Pokemon."

"That won't be necessary," Belle said with a smirk. "Because for my first Pokemon, I choose Charizard." Belle lifted her leg and kicked up the Pokeball and threw it forward. Charizard roared when he planted his feet on the battlefield.

"Confident, are we?" Viola smiled. "We won't be so easy to beat. Surskit, go!"

"As we planned Charizard, go right ahead with flamethrower!" Belle instructed.

"Surskit dodge it and cover the whole battlefield with ice."

"Charizard, fly up and cover the field with your flamethrower!" Viola gasped when Charizard melted all the ice Surskit put down. Surskit was hit with the flamethrower and struggled to a stance.

"Surskit, use your sticky web!"

"Charizard, dodge it and then use fly!" Charizard dodged the attack and then dived down and grabbed Surskit. He quickly flew up and then fell at a rapid speed towards the ground, throwing Surskit down.

"Surskit is unable to battle!" The referee declared when Surskit no longer could get up.

"Impressive," Viola chimed, returning Surskit. "However, let's see how you stand up against my Vivillion."

"Charizard, still good?" Charizard nodded. Viola looked concerned. Belle smirked.

"Vivillion, sleep powder!"

"Nope, Charizard dodge that and go in for fly!"

"Use psychic, Vivillion!"

"Beat them there! Approach with your fly and change it with a flamethrower!"

Viola gasped at the instruction. "You can have your Charizard change attacks that quickly."

"Charizard can do many things," Belle said with a smile as she watched Charizard deliver the attack.
