Belle didn't sleep that night. She snuck out of the tent, careful not to wake Serena and Bonnie. She walked down the dirt path slightly and stared up at the starry sky. She frowned and reached down for her Poke'balls. She patted each one and her Pokemon came out and looked at her sleepily. Tears glazed her eyes as she looked at them. "I know it's late and I'm sorry for waking you," Belle whispered. "But, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for allowing you to get taken and not being more careful. I am supposed to protect you all and I failed you. We have a mission to stick to and I lost sight of that and- please. I hope you can forgive me." It didn't take long for her Pokemon to surround her and embrace her. Belle now couldn't hold back her tears. In the comfort of her Pokemon's affection, she felt safe and felt like, things would then be okay. Belle sniffled and wiped the tears from her eyes. A smile was painted on her face. "I can always count on you guys. Now here, come on back into your Poke'balls. I will keep you safe." She strapped her Poke'balls back onto her ankle and sat on the ground staring up at the stars. She sighed and brought herself to a stand.
"There she is!" Jesse called out.
Belle stood up and frowned. "You don't want to challenge me, Jesse."
"Oh, don't I?" Jesse questioned with a smirk. "I am not afraid of you twerpette."
"You should be," Belle said as she lifted her leg up and kicked a Pokeball in her hand. "If it's a challenge you want, I will not hold back."
"Pumpkaboo, I choose you!" Jesse cried out throwing her Poke'ball forward.
"Dragonair go!"
"Pumpkaboo use leech seed!" Jesse commanded.
"Don't let them land an attack use hyper beam and get them away from us!" Belle exclaimed in rage.
"W-what?" Jesse wailed, but before she could speak another word Dragonair's hyper beam roared at them hitting Pumpkaboo and Jesse sending them both flying backward. Jesse returned Pumpkaboo and struggled to a stance.
"You'll never make a fool of me again!" Belle exclaimed.
"You did that all on your own!" Jesse scowled. "You thought James would really fall for someone like you? Please. What a foolish girl."
The mention of his name was still a new hit to her. She turned away, her fist clenched beside her. "I'll have nothing to do with any of you Rockets again, I'll be sure about that."
"Don't be so sure," Jesse smirked.
"Such power," a man said behind her. Belle turned around and saw a man in a suit standing behind her.
"Who are you?" She asked somewhat frightened by the man's random appearance.
"My name is Giovanni. The leader of Team Rocket."
Belle called Dragonair back and tried to dash, but more members of Team Rocket blocked her.
"What do you want from me?" Belle cried out.
"We want you," Giovanni stated with a smirk. "You could be the most powerful trainer I've ever seen." He circled around her. "I want to harvest that power into our own members and you are just the girl to train them.
"I'll never cooperate and you will not get my Pokemon!" Belle stated as she put Dragonair's Pokeball back.
"We'll see about that," Giovanni stated as he snapped his finger. More members of Team Rocket emerged from the bushes.
"ASH!" Belle cried out for help. Jesse's laughter made her concern grow.
"We've knocked out the twerps for the evening," she explained. "Just surrender now."
"Never," Belle exclaimed, she lifted her leg up and kicked a Pokeball into her hand. "Charizard I choose you!" Charizard roared as he emerged from his Pokeball. "Charizard fly up and light this entire place on fire!" Belle exclaimed! Charizard used its claws to grab Belle and bellowed out a loud roar before casting a rain of flamethrower upon the ground below them. All of the Team Rocket members and Giovanni scattered. Charizard lowered her back down and stood behind her. "Go make sure Ash and the others are safe," Belle instructed. Charizard nodded and flew down the path towards Ash and the others.
"Guess not all battles are won without hurting someone, are they, Belle?" James questioned, emerging from behind a tree.
"James? Did I hurt you?" Belle asked, looking at him concerned.
"You tried to hurt my friends and I'd be shocked if all of those people escaped without a burn. I guess they were right about you after all."
"They were going to take me and my Pokemon. You have to understand."
"I'm done understanding. Inkay go!" James called out, throwing his Pokeball forward.
"I don't want to hurt you or your pokemon."
"Inkay attack her then."
"What?" Belle asked, but before she could utter another word, Inkay tackled her causing her to fall backward.
"Inkay Psybeam."
"James, wait stop!"
Dragonair popped out of its Pokeball and blocked the attack against itself.
"Dragonair, are you alright!" Belle cried out. Dragonair nodded and repositioned. It looked over to James and Inkay and started to charge its hyper beam. Before James called another attack, Dragonair released it and sent James flying backward. Belle stood up. She looked at James on the ground and resisted the urge to run to him. She called Dragonair back and ran the other way where Charizard went.
