Belle woke up early and sat in the garden of the Pokemon Center while drinking her coffee. She reviewed her notebook and made notes deciding the best method to approach Korrina with. She tapped her pencil against her cheek, taking into consideration the type advantage and giving her Pokemon equal opportunity to battle.
"Ah, it's so lovely to see a young trainer working diligently," Belle looked up, feeling her face warm at the sight of James. He smiled, covered by a black hooded cloak, and sat beside her. "I thought you were going to be in Couramine City?"
"Yeah, I was, but I had to rush here because of my newest team member." She smiled and called Gible out. Gible yawned and approached them. "Gible, this is James, my..." she blushed, "special friend. James, this is Gible."
"What's this?" James gestured at Gible's tooth.
"Gible was injured when I caught him, so I had to rush here and see a Pokemon dentist. He has to wear this for a few weeks in hopes of strengthening the tooth, so it's not lost." James pet Gible's head, Gible shuffled its feet in delight. Dragonair popped out of its Pokeball and curled itself around James' shoulder. "I guess Dragonair missed you too."
"I missed you all," James smiled, rubbing his face against Dragonair's. James leaned over and pecked Belle's lips. "So, you battling the gym today?" She nodded. "What's your plan?"
"Well, it makes the most sense to use Charizard and Altaria, but I planned to use them at Couramine City, and I don't want to keep using the same few Pokemon. Everyone deserves a shot, so I'm debating."
"Type match-ups, you're proper. Altaria and Charizard are the way to go."
"I will use Altaria and Dragonair here. Then Charizard and Grovyle in Couramine. I know types don't match completely, but Altaria and Charizard can always be the third backup if needed."
"There's a good idea," James embraced her. "Gible would be effective too, but I'm guessing with the tooth condition."
"Yeah, I haven't had a chance to battle with Gible. We will begin training after he's fully recovered. For now, he can sit back and watch." Belle scratched Gible's head and smiled. "Did you want to come to see my battle?" James frowned, "Oh, you must be busy."
"I'm sorry." James ran his hand gently against her cheek. "I should go back before Jesse and Meowth wake up anyway. I'm sure the twerps will be joining you soon. I was going to stop by last night, but you were busy. I did see your battle against that other Mega Charizard, though. You're something else. You know that?"
Belle stood up and called back Gible. She brought Altaria out. "Dragonair and Altaria you're the ones battling today, so we need to get warmed up." They both nodded. Belle sighed and turned back to James. "Guess I'll see you later then."
"We'll find some time for ourselves soon, okay?" She nodded. "Come on, no pouting." He stood up and smiled at her once more. "Good luck on your battle, okay?"
"Okay." Belle watched him walk off and sighed. She turned and saw Dragonair and Altaria staring at her, concerned. "I'm okay. Let's get busy training, hm?" Belle, Dragonair, and Altaria did laps around the city. "Agility, Dragonair!" Dragonair immediately used its agility. "Aqua tail!" In an instant, Dragonair's agility stopped, and he initiated aqua tail. "Nice. Altaria ice beam- pin point it on this X I'm drawing in the ground, hit the X and immediately prepare for sky attack." Altaria perfectly hit the X with one shot and proceeded into a sky attack, landing on the same X. "Perfect. Let's get some breakfast. You guys are ready!"
Belle crossed back to the Pokemon Center and worked on breakfast for all her Pokemon and Ash's group.
"Morning, Belle," Clemont greeted. He smiled, pushing his glasses up. "What's all this?"
"Making all the Pokemon breakfast. Don't worry I've included all of yours too!"
"Wow, thank you! Then I will make breakfast for us." Clemont started cooking beside her. When they finished, everyone came down. They worked together to serve all the dishes to the Pokemon. Belle joined the others at the table to eat the food Clemont had made.
"This is delicious Clemont, thank you."
"Thank you for preparing food for the Pokemon. You would make an excellent Pokemon Nurse or Breeder."
"Thank you, but I only have plans to be a Pokemon Master. Like you, right Ash?"
"You betcha!" Ash said with a full mouth.
"Ash!" Serena scolded. They all laughed. "Are you nervous for today's battle, Belle?"
"No, I'm pumped. We've been working out and are ready to go."
"Where do you find time to sleep?" Serena asked. "You seem like you're always busy."
"I sleep about 6 hours a night typically. Sometimes less if I'm going into something spontaneously like this battle," Belle rubbed the back of her head. "I need to hurry back to Couramine. Professor Sycamore said Ramos, the gym leader, may have leads on the Mega stones I need."
"Aw, I wish we could come with you, but we promised another friend to meet up soon," Ash frowned.
"No worries, I've had more company on my journey then I expected. You guys must have fun traveling as a group!"
"We sure do!" Bonnie exclaimed, her arms extending outwards. "How come you don't travel with anyone?"
"Well, there is someone I want to travel with, but he's on his journey too. For now, being alone may be the best way for me to maintain focus. Though, who knows what the future holds?"
