S3 She Doesn't Deserve This (33)

This one shot is my interpretation of what happened after Yoonchul came to Yoonhee's funeral.

It wasn't shown in the drama but I just thought... What if Seokhoon was there?

I mean he never left her alone during those hard times right?

Shouts filled the dim and empty chapel. The smell of incense still thick in the air.

The sound of sobs and Rona's shouts of anger and grief echoed through the walls.

Throwing the flowers everywhere and hitting Yoonchul with whatever was left in her hands. The girl was filled with fury and sadness at the same time.

She was hurt, angry and grieving.

Yoonchul kneeled there motionless as he let the female do whatever she wanted. Never defending himself or uttering a single word.

He was guilty and at that moment he could have thought that it was better for Rona that he remained out of her life.

A loud thud finishes the shouts and in an instant, Rona falls onto the floor. She wore the dreadful black mourning hanbok, tears streamed down her face and the redness in her eyes was evident.

She sobbed and sat on the floor weeping unable to speak any longer.

Suddenly, the sliding door of the chapel opens and a concerned voice calls for the female.

'RONA YAH!!!'

Yoonchul didn't have much time to react but in a flash. Joo Seokhoon wearing his dark suit rushed to his girlfriend's side and held her in his arms.

Noticing the mess in the room and YoonChul's presence, Seokhoon couldn't help but feel the anger inside him rise up.

Yoonchul glanced at 'his daughter' and was about to speak again until Seokhoon's icy voice thunders through the walls of the chapel.

'그만해요 아저씨 (Keumanheyo Ajusshi)..... I don't know what happened here a while ago but please don't make this harden than it already is. Rona is hurting and if you have any conscience left in you, please leave her alone and let her grieve.'

Yoonchul was about to interject and speak again until this happens.

'But--'

Raising his voice and now glaring at Yoonchul, Joo Seokhoon finally shows his true feelings and speaks.

'I told you that Rona is hurting.... If you still want me to respect you as an elder. Please get out of here!!!! To be honest.... You don't even have any business here to begin with.

I don't want to be so cold but this was all because of your family.

Just leave and let Rona breathe.'

At this point, Joo Seokhoon was way pass being annoyed. He was furious and Ha Yoonchul knew he really should be leaving as to not push anymore of the younger male's buttons.

Standing back up and gazing at Rona for the last time. Yoonchul nods at the irritated Seokhoon and walks out of the chapel without a word more said.

Following YoonChul's retreating figure with the coldest glare, Seokhoon tightens his hug on Rona and gently tries to calm her.

'It's okay, I'm here..... Don't cry anymore.'

Seokhoon had stayed there for a few minutes, rooted in that position and just silently comforting the female. He gently patted her back and hummed a certain melody that was stuck in his head.

It was until 5 minutes later when Seokhoon realized that Rona had fell asleep. Slowly laying her down on one of the seating cushions. Seokhoon quickly went to set up the floor mattress and put it in the corner of the room.

Walking back towards the sleeping female, he carefully holds her up and carries her bridal style to lay her down onto the floor bedding. Gently tucking her in, Seokhoon leans down to peck her forehead and proceeds to clean up the whole mess from earlier.

Picking up the flowers and incense sticks everywhere, he cleaned and and tried to keep everything as tidy as possible.

As he was about to exit the chapel to wash his hands in the toilet, he slightly jumps as he notices Yoonchul sitting outside the door.

Immediately, his exhausted expression shifts into an annoyed glare.

Trying to be as quiet as possible but with poison laced in his voice, the male blocks the door with his body and glares at the elder male.

'Didn't I already tell you to please leave?

Rona is already sleeping.... Seeing how she reacted when you came. I seriously hope....

That you think twice next time and know that you should probably know your place Ajusshi.

I think you may have also been mistaken to believe.... But Rona is no longer your stepdaughter.

You betrayed her and Yoonhee ajhumma ages ago....remember?

And now as harsh as I can be.... Rona is stuck in this situation because of Eunbyeol and Cheon ssaem. I don't believe that Yoonhee ajhumma would do such a thing. I was there when Yoonhee ajhumma called Cheon ssaem.

If you truly want to be a good person.... Please, instead of coming to bother Rona. Distance yourself from her and let her be at peace.

She doesn't deserve this.'

And just like that, Seokhoon bows his head showing a tad bit of respect towards the elder male and goes back in the chapel. Closing the door right in front of Ha Yoonchul.

Ha Yoonchul took quite a few minutes to process everything Seokhoon had said... But he knew it in his heart that what the younger male had spew out in his mouth was clearly correct.

Even though Seokhoon didn't know the exact truth as to why Yoonchul even came to see Rona and visit Yoonhee's funeral.... Yoonchul knew he had to distance himself from the female.

He knew it would be better to leave her at peace.

Well, at least if he couldn't be there for her as a father.... He was contented and relieved at the thought of Rona having someone like Seokhoon right beside her.

Someone who truly deserves her love and kindness.

With that, Ha Yoonchul gazed at the closed door one last time and whispered.

'Goodbye, Rona yah....'

And just like that, the middle aged man walked out with tears streaming down his eyes. Never once looking back but with deep regret buried inside the depths and abyss of his heart.

I just knew I had to write this when it suddenly popped into my mind.

What if Seokhoon really did confront Yoonchul. They never really showed us what happened after that Rona and Yoonchul scene in Yoonhee's funeral
