S3 Logan's Lesson (34)

What if Logan had passed when Seokhoon and Rona had already reconnected prior? How would Seokhoon break the news to Rona?

The nonstop ringing of the cellphone breaks the silence of the dark bedroom.

With a slight groan, the male slowly retreats his arms from the female's embrace and reaches to grab the vibrating phone.

Trying to be silent and careful as much as possible, Joo Seokhoon opens his phone and checks the spam of messages that came from his sister.

His eyes widen and soon he turns his phone off to process the new information that he had gotten from his sister.

'Logan passed away this morning. The doctors said they couldn't do anything anymore.

He passed away peacefully, So don't worry too much about missing out on anything.

I'll tell you more information once I get back from work.'

Looking at the time, Seokhoon knew that at this time in South Korea, Seokkyung was probably at work. There was a long time difference between Seoul and Vienna and he knew better to not call his sister when she was at work.

He took a few minutes to grieve. Although he saw this coming since he discovered that Logan had a relapse and his cancer had came back.

He tried his best to convince him to get treated, even Seokkyung and Rona had asked him to do so... But the love Logan had for his mother prevailed.

Seokhoon knew.... Logan wasn't resentful at all when his condition was announced by the doctors. In fact, Logan saw it as a opportunity and blessing. At least, for him... He could be reunited faster with the love of his life.

Shim Suryeon

As Seokhoon stood there silently, a pair of arms suddenly snake up to his waist and the soft voice of his love snaps him out of his thoughts.

'What are you doing? It's only like.... 1am. Come back in and get some more sleep. You have a long day ahead of you.'

Holding the female's hands and smiling gently, Seokhoon turns around and clears his throat.

'I have to tell you something....'

Tilting her head, Rona smiles and urges him to continue.

'Seokkyung left me a message.... Logan has passed away.'

It seems that Rona's world had froze at that moment.

With her smile slowly fading away, a tear streams down her cheeks and she smiles.

'Oh!!!'

Oddly enough, there was not much grief or sadness on her face. Rona wipes the tears away and composes herself.

'Mr. Lee.... Had a great life. At least, we had a few years with him. I'm sure his already found your mom.'

Seokhoon nods and wraps his arms around his fiancée.

'Yes, of course.... I'm sure they've all reunited up there. Our parents, Logan and Min Seola.'

Laying her head on his chest, Rona chuckles as she replies.

'Too bad.... I was supposed to ask him to walk me down the aisle on June.

Guess I might have to go ahead and ask Lee Minhyuk to walk me down instead.'

Chuckling at her comment, Seokhoon strokes Rona's long hair and nods.

'You should probably prepare some gifts and compliments for Minhyuk then.'

There was a mix of sadness and happiness in that bedroom that night.

The couple was of course, sad that Logan... Who had been their mentor and one of the last parent figure during the last few years had departed the mortal realm.

But at the same time they felt happiness.... Not for themselves but for the man himself.

At least, now he could be at peace and be reunited with the people he really longed to be with.

In 2 days time, Seokhoon and Rona flew back to Seoul together canceling all their schedules to attend Logan's funeral.

Everyone yet again reunited for a sad event... But it also symbolizes a new beginning for each of them.

Logan left them all a lesson.

'Love and friendship triumphs over evil'

For the years since Logan's death. Seokhoon and Rona had become the greatest stars and have since then started a family same with the other Hera kids who have went on with their lives with such grace and dignity.
