With love, hate and sexual tension,
I proudly present to you: Game On.
JORDAN'S P.O.V
I blinked my eyes open, awakened by a deafening screech sounding from outside my bedroom.
Grunting, I stole a glance at the yellow alarm clock on my bedside table. It was 7 am. Fuck. I had precisely one hour until my life changed for the better - or so I hoped. If the experience of being a freshman at college was as good as it appeared in all the movies, I'll take it.
I rolled out of bed and dragged my heavy feet through the bedroom door to see what that damn screeching was. I had suspicions that it wasn't a matter of what, but who.
"Good morning Jordy-Jord!" An excited voice chirped from behind the couch.
"Hey, Ruby."
"Excited for college gorgeous girl?"
"I feel like I should be the one asking you that," I retorted, laughing gently.
There was the brutal sound of a big bang on the side of the couch. "Well, I'm not off to a great start this morning"
"Ruby, when are you ever off to a great start?" A cushion came flying over the kitchen island hitting me in the head, which I probably deserved.
"I've lost my phone again but I had it here with me last night I think," She said as she started her furious pillow throwing again.
"Hey, hey! Calm down! You can start by putting my cushions down and I'll give it a ring,"
"It's dead" She cried.
"Jesus Ruby"
I headed around the kitchen island to pour myself a bowl of cereal while I overlooked the attached living room, My best friend of 15 years was attempting to lift up my 3 seater couch by herself.
"Put it down honey." Ruby dropped the couch.
"I'm clearly panicking here! How am I going to get any of my work done on time and pass my classes if I'm not organised enough to remember where I left my fucking phone!"
"So this scenario in my living room is not about your lost phone."
"No of course not!"
"Oh of course not!" I imitated with an eye roll before I let her continue.
"You're going to be thriving in your classes, doing your assignments on time, and having so much free time to be social and make friends and date cute college boys and you're going to leave me behind because I'm going to have to be studying ALL the time and I'm not going to be the fun Ruby we all know and love, I'm going to be Study Hermit Ruby!" Ruby said in one incredibly long breath.
"Take a breather sis, I don't know if you remember high school correctly but I wasn't exactly Miss Social Butterfly or Miss Dick Magnet, That was more you're thing, So I'm not going to randomly stop hanging out with you. And besides, you did just fine in high school, You didn't pass with flying colours but you passed and that's all that matters." I said matter of factly.
"But college is going to be so much harder than high school and I thought that was pretty hard already!"
"You got into college didn't you?"
"Yes but-"
"No buts. You're going to be just fine, I know this because you are going to have me by your side for the next four years to hang with you and to help you study. And who's going to drag me to awful college parties I don't want to go to,"
