ALEX'S P.O.V
Sarah Scott is a cock blocker. There's simply no other way to put it. All day I've been trying to pull a move on Jordan but every time I see the girl, she's accompanied by this new chick.
Well Sarah isn't 'new' per say, she's just all of sudden become really involved in my life. Before today, I'd ignore her in the hallways, hear about her in the locker-room and tease her for the fun of it. She's so innocent and needy that you could practically tell her you want to take her to prom and she'd believe you. I mean how pathetic can you get?
But now that Reid has taken Sarah under her wing, she's getting ballsy. I'll catch her eye in the hallway and she won't look away like normal, she will actually hold my stare. It seems like her new mentor's attitude has rubbed off on her. How quaint.
"So you're not even a little bit jealous?" I taunt Ruby as we wait for Reid and Spencer to come out of their afternoon class.
Ruby sighs. "I'm not the jealous type."
We've been leaning against the hallway wall for fifteen minutes now and there is no sign of our companions. Ruby is confirming my thoughts of her personality. Throughout my pestering and snarky comments, she stays pretty chill. She's full of sassy remarks and strong roasts. Ruby gives what she gets.
"But jealousy over your boyfriend is probably a different story I suppose." I smirk.
"He's not my boyfriend!"
There we go. There goes the chill.
"Who isn't your boyfriend?" Reid asks with her left eyebrow quirked.
Behind her, Spencer looks like he's about to shit himself.
"Nobody." I drawl, pushing myself off the wall.
To my complete and utter surprise, Sarah just so happens to chirp up from Jordan's side. "A secret man!" Her tongue pokes out to accompany her cheeky comment.
Ruby seems to have swallowed her tongue, Spencer should probably excuse himself to the bathroom, Jordan is looking genuinely curious and Sarah just seems pretty content to be involved in this conversation. That, again, leaves me to save a certain pair's asses.
"I'm the loverboy. Secrets out." I reach for Ruby's arm and I place a chaste kiss on the back of her hand. The Reid siblings wear matching scowls at my sweet gesture.
Her hand immediately recoils with a squawk she furiously proceeds to wipe off my germs. "You're a pig!"
Sarah giggles at the scene. "You guys are such a funny group."
"We aren't a group! Spencer is just the brother and Alex is just his bestfriend. That's it!" Ruby yells, stomping away. How dramatic.
Spencer takes this moment to come back to earth. "Red! Wait!" He shouts, jogging in her trail.
"Since when does he call her 'Red'?" Reid asks. She seems more concerned by this nickname than any of the other drama which just went down.
I shrug. "I think it's nothing."
"I think its cute." Sarah smiles.
Reid glares at her. Well would you look at that? Jordan isn't completely infatuated by Sarah. She can still be her bitchy self around her little side-kick. "I think it's an insult. I don't think Spencer likes Ruby's hair." She convinces herself.
In actual fact, Spencer loves Ruby's hair. He spends hours praising and worshiping it during football practice. I have to use force for him to shut the hell up about it. "Oh yeah true." I agree.
