TUESDAY, AUGUST 24, 1965

Screaming teenage girls were loud, and maybe that was an understatement. If Alexandria paused and thought about it enough, she could have swore that she felt the entire bloody house shaking underneath her feet. For about the third time in the past hour, she looked out of a window, her eyebrows furrowing in concern.

"You do see all these girls, right?" Alexandria asked the Beatles.

George sat up straight and peeked out the window beside Alexandria. "Yeah," George said. "What about 'em?" He plopped back down on the couch, and a moment later, Alexandria followed, sitting just far enough away from him that they weren't touching. "How are all these 'guests' going to get in?"

"Don't worry," George said assuredly. "They'll get in." With that, he continued his conversation with the rest of the lads. Alexandria looked around at the room they were in. She had a strange feeling, a feeling that something was about to go down. The feeling churned in her stomach and almost made her ill. With that in mind, Alexandria stood and traveled through the house. George watched her as she left, wondering what had gotten into her to make her so nervous all of a sudden. Nothing had happened to her that could warrant such a feeling, so he didn't know why she had that look in her eyes, that look that gave away how worried she was.

George, on the other hand, was beyond nervous, and for a good reason. He and Alexandria had met up here in Los Angeles just the night before. Today kickstarted a five-day stretch that the Beatles had off from their North American tour, and now that he was here in Los Angeles, he was beginning to feel the stress of his oncoming proposal. He'd been doing some planning ever since he had gotten here, and the more he thought about it, the more anxious he got. He still wondered if it was even a good idea, no matter how many times everyone else said that it was. I mean, what if she said no?

Alexandria poured herself a glass of ice water and returned to the sitting room. "When are these people coming over?" she asked, stopping in the doorway with her water clutched in her hands.

George shrugged. "Maybe an hour or so. Why?"

Alexandria shrugged too. "Think I might lay down for a while," she said.

George raised an eyebrow. "Everything all right?" he asked.

Alexandria nodded silently before turning and leaving again. All four Beatles looked at one another.

"Something's wrong," Paul, who could still read Alexandria like a large-print and opened book.

George nodded. "Yeah, I'll go see," he responded, pushing himself to his feet. He tucked his hands in his pocket and went toward the doorway that Alexandria had just disappeared through.

"Might be a trap, Geo. If she's stripped down when you get in there, just keep it down, all right?"

George rolled his eyes. "If she's stripped down when I get in there, then I don't see how that's a trap. Sounds a bit like a dream come true." He smirked before leaving his four mates behind.
