Stefanie's POV
Uncle Stefan and I sit together at a rock near the water at the lake and I think of what I'm going to say to him.
"Can you still keep those secrets about my ripper past from mom and dad please? I know it's asking a lot but I'm just too scared and ashamed to tell them." I ask him
"I promised you than and I promise you now. You're secrets safe with me Stefanie. I understand with feeling scared and ashamed of being a ripper. You can always talk to me when you feel it ok." Uncle Stefan promises me and I smile at him.
"I feel so much safer knowing that you're actually here." I tell him and he puts his arm around me and I rest my head on his shoulder.
"I feel safer knowing I can protect you better. I've always hated that, seeing you whenever you got hurt or crying and I couldn't do anything. Lexi and I always watched over you together. She would love to meet you, actually meet you like this. If I was watching Damon she would watch you for me and catch me up so I wouldn't miss anything." Uncle Stefan tells me and than I realize.
"Lexi, can we bring her back to?" I ask him and he sighs and I look down. "No, her death was it, I guess that was supposed to be the end of her story, or something like that. We can't bring her back. Plus Bonnie has nothing of Lexi's, neither do I so it's impossible." Uncle Stefan explains
"Oh, I'm sorry" I apologize "It's ok, she'll visit us a lot. Just like I did" Uncle Stefan tells me and I smile at him.
"Hello Stefan" We hear a girl's voice say, it almost sounds like mom. We turn around and it is mom but in curls for her hair.
"Katherine" Uncle Stefan says and puts me behind him. Oh right, mom's doppelgänger, oh shit. Katherine looks at me and smiles.
"Awe cute, you are back and doing what you do best protecting the people you love. Isn't this your niece, eww, it's disgusting of how much she looks like Elena and Damon." What a bitch
"Hey! Don't you dare talk about my niece like that. How are you alive?" Uncle Stefan asks her
"Well it's simple, you remember that I died with you right? Well Bonnie forgot to leave me out of this welcoming party of your's and now I'm here. So Stefanie, I'm assuming you're just like you're parents right. Than I can already guess that we will not get along." Katherine says to me
"Leave her alone Katherine, leave us alone for once. It's not that hard to do you know. Damon and I have been able to leave you alone." Uncle Stefan mentions
"But that wouldn't be as fun now would it. I'll see you later Stefan." Katherine leaves
"So that's Katherine, the biggest bitch of all." I call her and he looks at me. "What, that's what dad calls her, I don't know her at all. She really does look remarkably like mom. It's creepy almost and confusing."
"Be careful around her, she's dangerous. If she's near you call us. We know how to handle her." Uncle Stefan warns me
"I promise I will, we should probably head back to the house." I tell him
"Hey, by the way was it ok of me when I read your diaries?" I ask him as we're walking back to the house. "I wrote those for helping people so yes. I would watch you when you did and you understood everything I wrote. That's when I would realize how similar we are." Uncle Stefan says to me and I smile at him.
When we get back to the house and of course everyone is pissed that Katherine's back.
"I promise guys that I tried my best to get her to not come with you. That's why it took me so long to get you back. She must've found a way on her own. I'm so sorry guys" Aunt Bonnie apologizes
"No Bonnie it's not your fault. This is all Katherine, like you said it was all her. Don't blame yourself" Mom comforts her
"Pizza?" Dad suggests and we all agree and order pizza. As we're eating we're catching uncle Stefan up on everything he missed. When I see dad in the kitchen corner alone I quietly go up to him.
"So, how does it feel to have your brother back?" I ask him "Weird after so long but good. You two will obviously have a close bond." Dad mentions
"Don't worry, that won't ruin my close bond with you. I promise dad" I relax him and he puts his arm around me and I lean in closer to him.
"Yeah, it better not" Dad tells me and I look at aunt Caroline and I have never seen her smile that big and beautiful before. I guess ever since uncle Stefan's death it really took her down. Now it looks like her old self that everyone else knows is coming back.
"Just one thing, how are you a vampire and not human as you came back?" Dad asks uncle Stefan
"I have no idea, maybe it was the spell?" Uncle Stefan suggests and we all look at aunt Bonnie. "It could have been, I'm sorry Stefan." Aunt Bonnie apologizes to him.
"It's ok, I'm just happy to be back." Uncle Stefan tells us and he smiles at me and I smile back.
"So, what's the first thing you want to do as your welcome home celebration?" Aunt Caroline asks him
"Well spend time with these two as much as possible. Since I missed so much." Uncle Stefan looks at Caleb and I.
"That works for me" I tell him "Same here" Caleb agrees
"Perfect, do you two mind if I take them out of school tomorrow all day?" Uncle Stefan asks mom and dad.
"Go right ahead, they need to get to know you more." Mom allows and Mackenzie and Alexis walk in.
"Hello Salvatore's, ooh pizza, oh hi." Alexis sees uncle Stefan and so does Mackenzie. Than they start to realize.
"What a second, are you?" Mackenzie starts to ask him and he nods his head yes. They hug me in an instant and aunt Bonnie.
"You did it!" Alexis practically screams and aunt Bonnie laughs. "Yup" She says
"Wait are you ok?" Mackenzie asks her "I'm fine girls, it all went smooth sailing." Aunt Bonnie tells them
"Good, well we'll let you guys celebrate. Call us Stef" Mackenzie looks at me
"You guys are welcome to join us. Right uncle Stefan?" I ask him "Yeah, there's plenty of food left." Uncle Stefan agrees and the close the door and sit down next to me.
"So what was it like being dead?" Alexis asks him and I look at her quick. "Alexis!" I almost shout at her. "What? It's just a question" I roll my eyes and so does Mackenzie. Uncle Stefan ignores that and looks at me.
"So when's that school dance again?" He asks me "Tomorrow night, oh shoot" When I realize we want the whole day together.
"Hey, no no no, it's ok. We can spend all day together and than I'll come chaperone the dance. Damon you coming?" Uncle Stefan asks him
"Ugh fine, only for you brother and you Stefanie." Dad agrees
"Perfect because we're low on chaperone's." Mackenzie mentions and it's true. I can't wait for tomorrow.
