Stefanie's POV
As I'm writing in my journal I can't stop thinking about the cure aunt Bonnie worked on not working. What if nothing ever will? What if I'm quite literally stuck in my own breath forever? What if one day my breath stops me from living because my blood is overpowering it some days?
"Hey? Are you ok?" I hear uncle Stefan ask and I turn to face him. "Not really" He gestures to sit with me and I go at the edge of my bed and he comes and hugs me tight. I can't help it but a slight, quiet tear falls down my cheek.
"I remember seeing you as a little girl watching after you. Hoping one day that when you had tears falling I could hug you like this and help you through it. I just wish it wasn't because of this. I'm here now and we'll find you a cure, I'm sure of it. You will be pain free one day and for the rest of your life. I know it Stef" Uncle Stefan helps me and it makes me smile.
"I'm so happy you're here right now uncle Stefan. Actually here" I tell him and rubs my back. "Me too Stef, me too." He says to me
Elena's POV
I'm secretly watching this from her door slightly and it's breaking my heart.
"What are you doing?" Damon quietly says and he makes me jump. He has his hands up in defence and I roll my eyes. "Is she ok?" He realizes
"No, Stefan's with her right now helping her through this. I couldn't imagine what it was like for him. Having to see her in pain and can't do anything for her. Until now" I tell Damon and he holds my hand tight.
"I know, him and I talked about it a bit. She's gone through too much Elena. More than we truly know. We will find a cure for her." Damon helps me and I just look down. Caleb comes out of his room next to us and we both look at him but he's looking at Stefanie.
"Is she ok?" He asks us "No, you're sister's going through a lot right now. Hey, maybe tomorrow you two should go out around town somewhere and you should distract her mind from today? I'm sure she would really appreciate it." I suggest to him
"Yeah of course, I'll take her whoever she wants after school. We might get home late though." Caleb warns us
"Your sister needs a lot of distractions right now so we don't care what time you get home tomorrow. As long as she gets home with less hurt than today." Damon says to him and Caleb nods his head.
