Chapter 1 : Soul Train Night

Roberta's POV

1979

So in about two hours or less me and my best friend Maleigha will be getting our groove on on soul train with our special guest... THE JACKSONS!!! Yes I know I'm spiked, Maleigha can't sit still and I'm very excited but before I go any further let me explain to you who I am, My name is Roberta Dakotashea Strawder. May 28,1960 is my birthday, I am the youngest of two and I was born in Bronx, New York. I moved to California in 1971 when I was 12 years old because of my childhood career of modeling and dancing. There I met my best friend in the whole wide world Maleigha,and as of six hours ago we've became high school graduates along with some other close friends and we are celebrating by guest staring on Soul Train.

Maleigha: Berta what are you wearing tonight?

Me: I was thinking my dark blue bell bottoms and my Red shirt and the jean jacket to go with my bell bottoms and my red heels. What about you?

Maleigha: oh OK cool. I was thinking about my pink long sleeved turtle neck sweater and my pink jeans and my black glitter ankle boots with heel.

Me: ooo girl I see you haha

Maleigha: girl you a mess

Me: you already know this haha

Maleigha: haha girl we got to get ready its already 5:00 !

Me: oh snap girl we got to get ready like now.

So me and meme ran into our rooms to get ready. I pulled my bell bottoms off my hanger and dug into my drawer and found my candy red shirt and found my jean jacket and my candy red medium size heel and put it on, I went into my bathroom that's connected to my room and brushed my teeth again and washed my face with my favorite amby soap and put coca butter lotion then I applied on my black eye liner and mascara and my cherry flavored lip gloss. Then I took my red over the shoulder purse and threw what I needed into the purse then I went out of my room and went to meme room.

Maleigha's POV

Where the hell is my black purse?!.. I'll find it later. So tonight me and my best friend for all time Roberta are going to dance at Soul Train and The Jacksons are going to be there and I swear I can't wait. Roberta has always been a big fan of the Jackson 5 and the Jacksons and basically anything that got to do with the Jacksons since we were kids. She is really a sucker for Michael but I'm in love with Marlon. I think he is really funny and handsome. When our manger told us about the event she told us that this is basically our graduating present and only the lord knows how thankful I am. Right now I'm dressed in a baby pink long sleeved turtle neck sweater and baby pink jeans and my black ankle boots with glitter on it and it comes with a matching glitter belt and my black over the shoulder purse that I can't find but I bet it's probably in the living room. Since I don't usually do my hair all fancy I put my past shoulders brown hair in a half up half down ponytail and I apply eye liner, mascara and pink chapstick and now I'm on my Way out of room.

Roberta's POV

Me:*hollars * MEME COME ON MALISSA IS WAITING ON US

meme: okay I'm coming have you seen my purse?

Me:yeah it's right here now come on.

Meme: I'm coming

Malissa has been our manger since we were kids and she is like our second mother. She don't ask for much and she is by far the sweetest lady I've ever Met. She reminds me of my grandmother. She is the one who persuaded me and meme to get a apartment on the same side of town as Diana Ross, and Berry gordy. For graduating as top ranked in our class she got us a spot on soul train as a gift that only the lord knows I can't repay her for.
