Chapter 4: First day of work

Roberta's POV
Ring, ring, ring, ring

Ughhh why can't I have atleast one more hour of sleep ?!!!

*reached over to get the phone *

Me:Hello

Michael: well good morning sleepyhead.

Me:*instantly shoot up from my bed* hey Michael sorry I just didn't know who was calling at eight in the morning.

Michael: it's OK and by the way it's ten in the morning hahaha

Me: oh my goodness!!  Seriously!!

Michael: yes really. OK so I'll be there around twelve to get you because John wants us there by 12:35 so we can get started because they need me and you to be in costume and fitting at 1:30 and then we can get back to working.

Me:ok cool. Let me get ready. See you when you get here.

Michael:ok see ya soon.

After I hung up the phone I climbed out of bed and went to the bathroom and did my hygiene stuff, then I went into my closet and sat in it because I didn't know what to wear. Then I thought of something simple a red shirt and my jeans and my red heels. Then I put my hair in a Mohawk and left some of my curls out then I put my chapstick on and and grabbed my jean jacket and purse left to go downstairs. There Sarah had my breakfast ready which was honey nut cheerios and milk, orange juice, and my favorite fruit, pineapples (diced)

Sarah:good morning sunshine

Me: good morning mom. This looks wonderful

Sarah: thanks and you don't have time to savored the food so sit down and eat Michael will be here soon.

Me: I know and today is the first day of work

Sarah: I know. Malissa told me.  I'm proud of you baby and I can't wait to see my baby on the big screen.

Me: haha I know and thank you mom.

By the time I had took my last bite from my pineapple my door bell echoed in the house. I ran to go get it. When I answered the door I could've melted because he was at my door.

Michael: good morning

Me:*letting him in * good morning

Sarah: good morning Michael.

Michael:good morning sarah

Me: are you hungry?

Michael: no,  mother made sure to make me eat before I left the house.

Me: oh OK I always admired her she is beautiful

Michael: thank you *tries hard not to blush* well we need to get ready to go

Me: oh OK mom I'll be home later,  I have my key and you got the office number.

Sarah: OK baby have fun, stay focus see you later

Me: bye

Michael:she must be really dear to you.

Me:who Sarah, yeah she is my everything and back. She is like my mom in a way but nobody can be my mom ya know? 

Michael: yeah I understand but where is your family if you don't mind me asking.

Me: no it's OK. Well my family is still in queens.  Rather my mom and dad.  I'm the only child. They are well taken care of,  I made sure of that.  They visit every holiday or I visit them every holiday well I try to anyhow. I call them everyday and stuff.

Michael: that's nice. And yeah I make sure that I talked to my parents everyday even though I live with them and me and Joseph relationship was rocky Back in the Jackson 5 days I still love my parents because without them I wouldn't be where I am and who I am today.

Me:yeah I understand. Some people be saying that Joseph is a mean man and all this other stuff but honestly don't believe so because everybody have different ways of raising their children and if his way got y'all to who y'all are today then so bid.  I'm sorry that it had to be like that but forgiveness is the one thing that god put on this earth so that we can learn how to use it and use it in other people who do us wrong. I'm glad that y'all have a regular son and father relationship because some people don't even have a father.  I always tell my mom and dad that I love them because without them I wouldn't be here and you never know when is the next time you will be able to say those precious three words to your family. 

Michael: yeah you have a point and me and Joseph have talked about the past and we have learned to move past it.  Those words that you said are very sweet calming words.  You should be a motivation speaker because now you've inspired me to get through the day.

Me:really ?? I mean nobody's has said that before to me so this is a first.  Thank you Michael.

Michael: no problem Roberta

So for the rest of the ride we talked about just about everything and we went over our scripts before we got out.  He told me that he don't celebrate his birthday like that because he is a jahova witness . So while he was talking I mentally planned a night he won't forget.  No I'm not planning a party I am going to give him a day where he can relax. And before it we were at the studio to began part ten of Michael's short film thriller and my first day of work.
