Chapter 37: The Meeting Part 2 & The Ending Result

Roberta's POV
My breath gets caught in my throat because I am lost for world's which is rare. I snap out of my daze and walk inside.
Me: mother
Mother: yes
Me: were here
Mother: we're?
Me: yes me and Michael
Mother : what a coincidence
Me: that's what I said. Where are you.
Mother: in the dining room come on in.
Me: Ok
Michael : hello mother
Mother : hello Michael
Michael : how are you

Me:im doing good.

We walk into the dinning room and get hit with amazing smell of food and the table looks amazing it's decorated and the lights are lit. Just for a meeting I tell you.
We sit down and of course mother wants to pray so we pray mother: lord I thank you for the food we are about to receive let us receive this food and nourish it like its our last meal. Let us have open minds and hearts as we eat. In your name I pray Amen.
Me: amen
Michael: amen
We pray and sit down I'm sitting to the left and Michael is sitting on the opposite side and mother is sitting at the head of the table. We get what we want to eat and let me tell you that the staff did a lovely job. Bringing us bake chicken breast, bake fish, rice, broccoli and cheese casserole. And Ice tea with lemon and for dessert we have chocolate cake and red velvet cake. We took our selections and ate then mother broke the silence.
Mother: so you two do know why I called this meeting.
Me: yes
Mother: I call this meeting because I cannot let you two go another day with confusion. It brings me confusion. I love you two very much and it's not because one of you are my child. It's because you two are wonderful humans that god place on this earth for a reason. Now speaking with both of you this past month in a half, I noticed that the both of you are heart broken. And I think that its time for you two to tell each other how y'all really feel. So I'll let Roberta go first. Roberta
Me: well let me say that you look handsome and thank you mother for this. This is such a big help really. Now Michael... These past three months have been the most stressful, busy, painful, three months I've ever seen. I cannot tell you how much my heart hurt every time I thought about what happened. This isn't just something that you have a dream and all of a sudden it's gone. No this will be a memory engraved in my head forever. Will the pain go away yes. I can't say that I hate you because I'll be lying. I love you soo much that I automatically agreed to have this meeting as soon As mother first said it to me. I couldn't just leave you wondering but honestly me and you both know that your actions were wrong and I'm willing to forgive you but I can't forget the painful memory.
Mother: now it's Michael turn.
Michael: my actions have cause heartache, headache and void. I cannot say that I don't feel just as guilty for what I done. I don't think that another sorry will fix it because I believe it won't. If I could turns the head of time I would. My love for you is a long as the Nile river. I'm extremely glad that you agreed to this meeting. And might I add you look beautiful as always. Even though I already said that I another sorry could fix this but I'm going to say it anyway. I'm sorry I really am. I don't want to loose my first love. I just can't do it.
Mother: well Roberta is there anything else you want to add or..
Me: I don't want to loose you either Michael. You're my first boyfriend. You're my love as well. I won't loose you. What I can do is we can still be best friends. Meaning you can come over whenever you want or have the time. You can call me whenever you want I do that care where I am. You'll always have Malissa's number. As for our relationship..... It cannot continue until we both figure out what we really want. It's obvious that we're not ready for what the world was going to give us. If god could let us cross path just one more time the that'll be nice but until then let's just be best friends. How's that sound... Michael?? What's wrong
Michael: *sniffle*ummm well... I just want you to know that you have to be the most wonderful person on this planet next to my mother and father. It amazes me that you still want me in your life after what I done. I can be your best friend and you can call me whenever you want I'll give you Frank number. You can come over whenever you have time or want. I'll wait for god for us to be together again. I understand where you come from and I'll accept that.
Mother: so now that we all got out what we needed to say how about we finish eating and enjoying the food that was prepared for us.
Me:*gets up and go to Michael *
Hey buddy don't be sad. I still love you forever and always. Remember when we said that?
Michael: yes
Me: I meant that from the bottom of my heart.
Michael: I did too. I still do.
Me: well why don't you get up a day give me a hug to seal our friendship.
He got up a gave me a very big hug and welcoming as well. I was almost weak in the knees because I forgot how good he smells. I'm going to miss this part the most. After we hugged we finish eating and having a conversation just updates and stuff. And soon it was time for us to head home. We thanked mother and the staff for the amazing dinner and now I'm walking with Michael to my house. We are now getting to the gate and I let them know that it's me and they open the gates. We are now at my front door.
Me: thank you for walking me home.
Mike: no problem you thought I was going to let you walk home by yourself.
Me: well...
Mike: that's not how that works hahaha .
Me: hahahahaha I know I know.
Mike : thanks for coming to the dinner I appreciate seeing you after all this time.
Me: you welcome and thank you for coming.
Mike: I couldn't just say no. I had to come and see you again because honestly I do that even know when I'll have time to just relax, ya know?
Me: yeah I know and I said the same thing. Do you want to come in?
Mike : wouldn't that be breaking the best friend code or something like that.
Me:says who. This is my house you can come over whenever you like. I meant that when I said it.
Michael: see this is why I will always love you.
We came inside and I went upstairs and told him to make himself comfortable. I took off my clothes and now I'm in sweatpants and a Tshirt .
Me: hey do you want to watch a movie
Michael: yeah sure.
Me: OK come on

Michael's POV
I can't believe this is happening right now. Like I thought that she wouldn't want to ever talk to me ever again and here I am in her house about to watch a movie. It's like the first month we were dating. She would often invite me to her house to watch movies and stuff. Wow. I could get use to being a best friend and besides after what happened I think that it wouldn't hurt if she had a best friend who wouldn't do the things that her former beaut friend did to her. I really can't speak on that to much because most of it involve me. So here we are sitting with drinks and the three stooges playing and I'm so caught up in the movie because I love them that I when I look next to me Roberta is sleeping with her hands tucked in between her legs which indicates that she is cold. So I turn the movie off and carry her upstairs. Which I haven't did in a very long time might I add. She still weighs just as light as a feather. I put her in her bed and just as I was about to tuck her covers in when she opened her eyes..

Roberta's POV
We finally got settled in the theater and I decided to lighten up the night by adding some comedy. I put on the three stooges and I didn't realize that I was soo exhausted. I decide to go to sleep and that's what i did I woke up in my bed and Michael putting covers on me. I couldn't believe it. He is still a sweetheart. Me: you know I could've walked up her myself
Mike: I know but you looked amazingly beautiful sleeping so I decided not to ruined that moment and decided to carry you. Sorry to wake you.
Me: you didn't wake me up. But you do need to be heading home buddy. Thank you for walking me home and keeping me company. Sorry I fell asleep on you.
Mike: you're right I think I should be heading home and you don't have to thank me. This is what I'm always here for ...you...
In that last part of the sentence he did something that I didn't see coming. He kissed me. I missed those lips I really do. I kissed him back and realize that I have to start thinking with my head not My Heart. So I pulled away.
Mike: I'm sorry I didn't -
Me: boy what are you apologizing for this time?! Let that be a kiss goodnight and our last kiss OK?
Mike: OK, well I'll call you tomorrow morning OK?
Me: yeah I'll be waiting.
Mike: OK bye
Me: don't say bye, say see you later
Mike: oh hahahahaha OK
Good night Roberta
Me: good night Michael.
He left and all I wanted to do was sleep... No thinking, nothing.. Just.... Sleep.
