Logan walked in the classroom and sat down at his table. Mrs. Uphoff took attendance, and let everyone start on whatever needed to be finished. Mrs. Uphoff walked to a table behind Logan, and he didn't think twice about it. Until he heard a voice behind him.

"Hey Logan, I might've found a partner for you," Mrs. Uphoff said. Logan was shocked.

"Really? Who is it?" Logan asked. He would finally be able to start on his project, and have a reasonable amount of work to do. Working by himself on a project this size was just too much.

"It's Dallas, you're both in Basics of Business this semester but in different periods, but next semester you will both be in Exploring Business Software together."

"Oh ok, perfect," Logan replied. Everything had fallen perfectly into place. Until his partner sat down next to him. Logan turned to greet him, but as soon as he laid eyes on him, he froze. He couldn't believe what was happening.

"This must be a nightmare," Logan thought. Everything was going to be perfect, and now Logan had to deal with this seemingly impossible scenario. Dallas was the boy from the library. Despite both of them turning as red as tomatoes, Logan took a deep breath and introduced himself.

"I'm Logan," he said.

"I'm Dallas," Dallas replied.

"I guess we're partners now," Logan said awkwardly.

"Yeah...I guess we are," Dallas replied even more awkwardly.

"I got a start on his project," Logan said, trying to change the subject and make the next hour of his life a little more bearable. "I started my portion of the speeches, but I haven't really started on the business models yet," Logan finished.

"Alright, I'll start on that then. Where did you find it?" Dallas asked.

"It's in canvas, there should be a link somewhere," Logan replied.

"Thanks Logan," Dallas said. Logan realized that he had never said his name yet. He wanted to say Dallas's name before the opportunity slipped away. Without giving it another thought, Logan said back, "No problem Dallas." Just because Logan said his name doesn't mean he was finished thinking about him.

"Why did I want to say his name so badly? It isn't just because he said mine, but I don't know why. There's just something about him, and I don't know what it is, and what it's doing to me," Logan overthought.

"What's so special about him? Why do I get red when I see him when I never said a word to him? I should ask someone, but they would think I'm a freak." Logan paused to think about who he should talk to, if at all.

"I've already brought my problems to Greyson enough, and I'm sure as hell not telling my parents or Paul or Ashton. Unless I find someone else, I guess I have to deal with this one on my own." Logan sighed, and got back to work writing speeches. 45 minutes later, FBLA was released.

"Did you get some things done?" Logan asked Dallas.

"Yep, I got the formatting and explanations done for most of it," Dallas replied.

"Oh ok, great!" Logan said, just realizing he had ended at an awkward spot.

"My mom's outside, I better get going," Logan said, attempting to make it less awkward.

"Oh, my parents are here too, can I walk with you?" Dallas asked. Logan felt his heart skip a beat.

"Sure!" Logan said, his excitement showing. "So, what are your interests?" Logan asked as they walked out the door.
