And like the moon,
We must go through phases
Of emptiness to feel
Full again.

The next morning at work, I am in the most destructive mood I have ever been in,

"Good morning Mr. Huxley," the receptionist says

"Say another word and I'll fire you" I spit out before walking away, into the elevator not waiting to hear a response

"Mr Huxley...a flower order came for Vanessa do you want me to bring it up to her office like every week?" The florist delivery man says just before the elevator closes

It's as if the whole world is against me this morning,

"No...give it to whoever you please, just not her," I say as the doors close

"Alright..." I hear him clear his throat and walk out of the building

I decide to call the florist company I use "hi I would like to cancel every order I had pre-placed..."

"No more flowers?" She asks

"No...don't send any more," I say angrily

"Alright it's canceled," the woman says after a moment of silence

I hang up without saying another word, I get into my office ignoring everyone that's here, and slam my office door,

I see a bouquet of lavender by my window, I stalk over and grab them and chuck them in the trash, I'm too furious to be able to think straight,

Her flowers are pissing me off, her smile hurts now, and her scent is intoxicating in a way that feels like its slowly killing me now, I had to have a professional cleaner go to my place to make sure it didn't smell like her anymore, I can't handle it, it hurts too much to still be able to feel her and smell her in my place knowing she won't be there anymore.

I'm so engrossed in the work that I almost miss my intercom buzz and a voice talking,

'Mr. Huxley, I'm sorry I tried telling her she was on the no-entry list but she stormed over to the elevators before security could stop her'

The receptionist has a nervous edge to her voice as she speaks

"Who is it?" I ask furry lacing my words

'Wren' she says nervously

"God damn it why are you even working here if you can't even do your job?" I ask with pure exasperation

Before she can respond I get a knock on my door

I quickly rise from my chair and stalk toward the door flinging it open, I immediately regret my decision when I see a snake of a woman
