Twenty-Seven

That interaction made my whole afternoon amazing. I aced all my exams and quizzes, and I also defended myself and my answers well during our recitation earlier.

"Una na ako ah. Pupuntahan ko pa si kuya sa hospital eh." Pagpapaalam ko sa aking mga ka-tropa. "I need to tell him about my UPCAT and USTET results." I continued saying.

"Surely a good news." Erin said as she flashed her captivating smile, "Hatid ka na namin!" Pag-presenta niya.

"No guys, out of the way kayo diba. Sige na una na kayo pauwi." I told them, "I can handle myself."

"You sure?" Tanong naman ni Keena this time.

Kaming tatlo nalang kasi ang natira ngayon dito sa parking lot. Nauna nang umuwi si Clei sa amin kasi sinundo siya ng tita niyang umuwi galing sa California.

"Yup. Don't worry about me girls." I assured them again. Nginitian na lamang nila ako bilang tugon, at nagsi-sakay na sila sa kanilang mga kanya kanyang sasakyan.

We bid our goodbyes to each other, as they drove away from me.

Nagsimula na akong maglakad palabas ng campus para puntahan ang pinakamalapit na restaurant dito. I will be buying foods for our dinner. I just ordered steak, as always, and also dessert.

I just booked a Grab para yun ang service ko papunta sa hospital.

"Here's the bayad po, manong!" I gave him 500 pesos kahit medyo malapit lang naman ang hospital mula sa resto na binilhan ko ng dinner.

He was about to give me the change pero I let him keep it. "Keep the change po kuya. Thank you for keeping me safe and for the smooth ride po."

"Thank you, ma'am! Pagpalain ka po." Kuya thanked me, and it warmed my heart, so I gave him a genuine smile before I went out of his car.

Hindi na ako dumaan sa front desk ng hospital kasi major shareholders naman parents ko dito kaya medyo kilala na rin ako dito.

Nagulat pa yung guard sa Clinic Floor paglabas ko sa elevator. Pero kalaunan, ay nginitian niya na lamang ako. Ngumiti nalang din ako sakanya pabalik.

Nagtungo na ako sa clinic ni kuya. I knocked on the door first, it immediately opened up, at bumungad sa akin si kuya.

"Hello kuya!" I hugged him excitedly, habang bitbit ko pa yung binili kong dinner namin.

"Hello, sweetie!" He hugged me as well. "Ano na yung sasabihin mo?"

"Wait. Let's talk about it over dinner. I brought dinner for the both of us." Sabi ko sakanya kaya naman napangiti siya at agad kinuha sa akin ang aking mga dala.

We went to the kitchen of his clinic at nagsimula nang kainin yung mga binili ko.

"How are you?" Unang bungad ni kuya sa akin habang kumakain kami.

"I'm fine. How about you?" I asked him too.

"I'm fine as well. Uh- A bit tired but I'm fine." He answered back, smiling at me, "So, what do you want to tell me?"

"Oh, about that-- Wait..." Kinuha ko 'yong pina-print ko kanina na results nung UPCAT and USTET. I choose to give kuya a hard copy para mas cool tingnan. I don't know, I just find it cool. "Here...." I handed him the results while smiling widely.

Agad niyang kinuha iyon at saka, binuksan at binasa.

"Oh wow!" He was speechless. He hugged me tightly, "I knew it. Congrats, sweetie!" He was getting teary eyed already.

"Thank you, kuya!" I thanked him, naiiyak na rin, "Salamat sa tiwala."

"Always, Kaye. Always." Sabi niya kaya naman umupo na kami pareho at pinagpatuloy na ang pagkain namin, "You should've told me earlier, I'd take you to a fancy dinner sana."

"It's fine, kuya. Having you here with me is more than enough for a celebration." I told him.

We just talked about a lot of stuff while having our dinner. Kinumusta namin ang isa't-isa, matagal tagal narin mula nung huling ganto namin.

Nagsabay na rin kami pauwi pagkatapos namin kumain since tapos na rin naman ang shift niya.

Naghahanda pa lamang ang aming mga katulong ng aming hapunan, though it's almost eight in the evening already.

They all greeted me when they saw me going upstairs. I just greeted them pabalik.

Agad akong naligo pagkabalik ko ng kwarto. I also finished my assignments as well para hindi ako mag-cram o mag-procrastinate pag malapit na ang deadline. I'd like to maximize my time as much as possible.

Hindi na ako bumaba for dinner nung tawagin ako ni Yaya para kumain na. I told her that I ate already and I'm studying kaya naman di niya na ako kinulit pa.

I opened my social media accounts after I finished doing my schoolworks. I immediately opened Instagram. Nag-story lang ako ng screenshot nung emails sa akin about the results. I just can't get over it. It still felt surreal.

I just put "10/10. all for u." As my caption for that story.

Marami na agad nag-reply sa story na 'yon, congratulating me. I just replied to them with "thanks!".

Napasigaw ako nung nakita ko ang username ni Blake. Ni-like niya yung story ko.

I immediately turned off my phone. Kinikilig parin sa ginawa niyang iyon. Ano ba naman 'yan. Lakas maka I can see my whole life with you, baby.

I was still imagining things when my phone suddenly beeped, kaya napaayos tuloy ako ng upo at kinuha ito para tingnan kung ano ang meron dito.

Never in my whole senior high school life did I imagined him to be proud of me, not until tonight.

Wala na. Tanggal nanaman ulit yung angas ko dahil sa'yo, Blake Montedo.
