Nightmare wouldn't deny that he enjoyed the startled look on your face far too much. It was payback, after all, you had bitten him.

He also wouldn't deny that the bite had sent his magic into a frenzy. Even now, as he took a step forward, it rattled in his bones, demanding something he couldn't have.

"You know, that's rather rude," he drew closer still and you shifted away. "Maybe I should teach you a lesson."

But maybe that was what you wanted.

"You were rude first - stealing my phone and picking me up against my will," you fired back, shock dissipating.

Heh, cute. You were such a little spitfire.

"But you bit me," he countered. "And I believe that's far more rude than anything I've done."

You hesitated. "Yeah, whatever... can I have my phone back? I'm sure Dream's freaking out."

Ah yes, Nightmare looked at the phone in his hand, which was still on call with his lovely brother, I almost forgot.

...He really didn't like the way you said Dream's name...

"Not yet," impossibly, his grin widened. "Not until you give what you owe."

Your face scrunched up in confusion. "Excuse me?"

"You heard me: give what you owe."

Your confusion melted away and you crossed your arms across your chest. Such a smart cookie. "Only if you do, too."

As if. "You first, little one."

Nightmare really liked the face you made at the nickname: scrunched up and conflicted. God, you were such an expressive creature.

Still, you gave in with a huff. "Fine... I'm sorry."

He pretended to consider your words. "Hmm... I'm sure you can do better than that."

Ugh, this bitch-

"I'm sorry for biting you. Is that better, king of tar?"

"Quite, queen of sass," he countered, smirking widely.

You had to admit; that was pretty funny. "I did it. Can I have my phone back?"

He handed you the device, albeit hesitantly. You put the phone to your ear, just in time to hear Dream practically squeaking at the other end.

"-n)! Are you okay?!"

"Woah, slow down, Dream, I'm fine," you hurriedly reassured him. "I'm sorry if I scared you."

"No, no! It's alright!" He sounded vaguely desperate. "It would be nice if you could come to the Doodlesphere. Ink- We all want to talk."

"I'll be there," you promised, eyeing Nightmare, who scowled at you.

"Thanks! See you soon, then," and with that, he hung up.

"I need to go," you said. "I don't want to fight... they really need my help."

A look of reluctant understanding crossed Nightmare's face, even if it was only for a split-second. "I suppose I'll allow it... on one condition."

"And what would that be?"

"Since you seem so keen on making promises left and right, promise this: come back."

"That's it?" You'd honestly thought he'd ask you to be his maid or something. "For real?"

He sighed in exasperation. "Yes, 'for real'. Now go before I change my mind."

"I promise."

"Ah, there you are!" Dream exclaimed when you transwarp into the Doodlesphere, better known as Ink's 'home'.

You notice that Ink and Blue are also present, the latter of which waves wildly at you. "(Y/N)! IT'S BEEN SO LONG! I- WE ALL MISSED YOU!"

It's only been a few days, Blue... Either way, you don't have the SOUL to correct him. "Aw, thanks. I missed you all, too."

"it's good to see you, (y/n). i assume you want the full story?" Ink asks.

You nod. "I would."

"well, i went to the neutral-void to scout it out, but your pocket's missing," the tattooed skeleton explains. "dream said that you said it shouldn't be possible."

"It isn't. That pocket's woven with the fabric of the void. It can't disappear," you sigh. "But I'm sure you've figured that out already."

"Yeah," Dream says. "I think it might be related to wherever that infection came from..."

"WE SHOULD CHECK IT OUT AGAIN," Blue adds, gesturing to you. "WITH (Y/N), THIS TIME, BECAUSE SHE'S THE GUARDIAN."

"then what are we waiting for?" Ink asks, already creating a portal with his brush. "let's go."

You follow the three skeletons into the portal, unsure of what you'll find lurking in the folds of your void.

...I hope I can keep that promise...

Hmm... I wonder who they'll find. Comment on who you think it is :)
