SO HERE IT WAS. They stood waiting out in the open, the still lake water to their right. Nova stood at the front of the group, her dark hair twitching in the breeze. She always had her eyes on the forest. Waiting for them to come. She didn't care to see the others behind her. They didn't matter to her anymore, they blended into her plan perfectly.

Quinn stood to her left. His arms were folded and he stared at the ground. He could see Este out of the corner of his eye but he dared not look at her. He felt more regret than he could put into words. Everything had become so messed up. All he'd wanted was for Este to see him but he hadn't deserved it, not in the way Carlisle had.

Laurent stood on Nova's right. He didn't want to be here anymore. He should have left when Este gave him the chance, he should have told her the truth. What good was loyalty when not returned. Este had been the only true friend in his life and now he had ruined it. Laurent was unsure how he could put this right.

Sahara stood behind Nova, looking over her shoulder. Her mind was burdened with carrying two. It was more difficult than Nova gave her credit for. It had been alright yesterday when all she'd had to do was stand in the forest and direct Este like a puppet but now she had to fight for the both of them? Sahara was growing sick with worry. Nova would never love her if she got this wrong.

Yule stood behind Quinn. His mind was twitching with the possibility of his power. He loved the way that they squirmed when they saw those things planted in their mind. One at a time he would pick them off. This battle was easy, it was already written in fate. Yule loved winning and today they would be victorious.

Devon stood at the back behind the new borns. He was keeping them in check. They feared him but the bite marks in his arms suggested different. He was becoming stressed. These eight vampires were stronger than him but they knew his voice as control. Yule helped show them what they wanted. They stood around seemingly mindless. They craved violence and that was exactly what they were going to get.

Este was buried under the layers that Sahara had set out for her. She was not fighting anymore for there was no one to hear her cry. Edward had been her last hope, she should've known he would not search long enough to find the truth, not when he believed it was staring him right in the face. Este had lost her spark when she'd seen the pain in Carlisle's eyes. Now she wished to be burnt with the rest of them, smoke coils in the sky.

"They're coming" called Devon. He had the best hearing, "but there's more than six?"

"More than six?" Nova called angrily, "how could there be more than six?"
