Because Nick had forgotten to pull down the blinds the night before, he was now awakened by the morning sun making its way across the Washington skyline into his room.

He turned over once in bed and his arm slid over the left side of his bed where he expected Megan to be, but the side was cold and empty.

Wondering where she would be and secretly hoping to find her in the bathroom, he got up and went to look for her.
But all he found was a note on the kitchen counter weighted down with the tequila bottle from her purse.

While his coffee machine was grinding the beans, he read the flourish-written lines.

Good morning Mister Butterfinger,

thank you for the nice and unexpected night.
See you in the office.

xo Megan

P.s.: Keep the tequila, you might need it someday to give you courage.

"Buttercup," he whispered with a smile on his lips.
He wouldn't have expected more or less from Megan, in fact to be honest it would have shocked him if she hadn't snuck out in the morning.

Megan was currently on her way home in the cab.
She had woken up before Nick when her alcohol level had reached zero again and even if she wondered why and how it had come to the point that she woke up in Nick's bed, she didn't regret it for a second.

In her eyes it had been a wonderful night and after all everyone had his needs that had to be satisfied and she had to admit that the sex with Nick was more than satisfying.

Of course she was also aware that she had to explain herself to her colleagues, even if she took a look at the unanswered calls on her cell phone.

She had missed about 52 calls from Regina, Daniel, Lexie and Josh, but she decided to take a hot shower at home and snuggle into a comfortable outfit before lying to her colleagues and friends.
Lying because even before they got to Nick's apartment they had agreed not to let this night become the next conversation at work.

Tired, exhausted and hungover she entered the apartment but instead of enjoying her rest as expected, she was already welcomed by Regina and Lexie who were sitting waiting on the couch.

"Oh my god! There you are finally!", Regina stormed towards the perplexed Megan and pulled her into a hug.

"Yes. May I ask why you're sitting here waiting like you're about to hold an intervention?"

"Maybe because you just disappeared like that and we couldn't reach you or Nick? But looking at you, did you two have a nice night together?"

"I certainly had a nice night, what Nick did though I don't know."

Lexie and Regina both leaned against the kitchen counter as Megan, who was desperately searching for an aspirin, answered them.

She would have to be gentle, Regina would believe her in a minute but Lexie wouldn't. Lexie's specialty was interrogating people, and many at work said she had a kind of seventh sense for whether someone was lying or not.

But most of the time it wasn't trained people like her she was interrogating.

"So you guys just happened to leave the party at the same time?" chipped in Lexie again incredulously.

"Yeah? After I probably had a little too much alcohol and Jackson pushed the action, Nick followed me. At first I didn't believe him, of course, but he explained himself. Despite that, I didn't want to go back to the party and Nick offered to take me downtown, where I went to a bar and - as you always wish - hooked up with a guy. End of story."
