After the discussion in the cafeteria, Megan had decided to take a little walk, a lap around the main building to put her mind at ease again.

Just as she reached the third corner, she heard someone calling her name from a distance. Knowing who the voice belonged to, her pulse clicked into high gear and her steps quickened, wanting to get back to the main entrance as quickly as possible - she wanted to get into the building before he caught up with her.

Megan tried not to show panic on the outside, to stay as calm as possible, although everything inside her was screaming to just run blindly at it.

Suddenly someone grabbed her by the upper arm and brought her to a halt.

"Hey little one, where are you going?" he whispered in her ear.

Hot breath brushed the shell of her ear and a cold shiver ran down her spine.
For a few seconds she was unable to move, she was like a timid deer looking straight into the hunter's shotgun.

But the anger she had towards Nick was still inside her and she used the remaining adrenaline that shot through her veins.

With a jerk she snatched her steady gaze and turned around.
Her gaze lingered on the eyes that were already almost grass green, almost resembling a reptile - the eyes that she had once seen her home in and that had once conveyed love to her.

"What do you want?", Megan tried to say in a strong voice, trying to mask the fear she felt toward Dean.

"I wanted to see you. I've tried to contact you a few times, but you're never home, and on the way home from work I've never run into you either."

Megan was not surprised by this statement, after all she had a reason why she took a different way home in the evening after work than in the morning, she had known from the beginning that Dean would try to intercept her there.

"You know that's called stalking, right?", her gaze had darkened now.

She just wanted to have her peace, to leave the past behind and forget about this relationship.

Dean's jaw visibly tightened, he wasn't used to the Megan he had suppressed for years now gathering the courage to stand up to him.

"I just want to talk, honey." From one second to the next, his behavior changed 180 degrees.

By all means he tried to convince Megan to talk to her, even if it would mean that he would have to play the loving and understanding one.

"I don't want to talk to you, though. You've been given more than three chances by me and you haven't taken advantage of any of them. Just get the fuck out of my life, Dean! You got that? Or do I have to start legal proceedings against you first?"

When she got no answer and Dean just looked at her in shock, she rolled her eyes, turned around and walked back to the main building with her head still up.

By the time she got to the office, her body was still pumped with adrenaline, she felt strong, and she was proud that she had finally managed to put Dean in his place after all these years.

With her hands propped up on the desk, she stood in the office, put her head back and took a deep breath.

She tried to sort out her thoughts and suppress the feelings that were now crashing down on her thanks to the sinking adrenaline level.

Even after more than a year Dean managed to scare her, she kept having flashbacks to the days when he went crazy over little things - those days when he threw objects at her, pushed her against a wall or even raised his hand at her.
