So ummm we forgot to mention this earlier but because it's over 5000 years later and because of continental drift, there is only one continent. That's kinda important for this chapter but not really.

Cherry blinked her eyes open. She'd been having a nightmare. Shard had died in the woods.

She started to stretch and, forgetting she was on the tree, she misstepped and started to plummet towards the ground, barely catching herself on a bottom branch.

Suddenly the branch snapped under her weight. "AHHHHH!"she shrieked. The air rushed under her wings as she fell. Then she felt the soft grass on her wings, her paw brushed past a mushroom.

Out of nowhere, Shard appeared.

"Are you ok?" He asked, stumbling closer.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" Cherry shrieked, jumping up and grabbing his claw.

"Shhhh, I've been hiding in these woods," Shard whispered, "Now come on, we're leaving."

"B-but we should wait for the guardians," Cherry said desperately.

"NO! I hate it there, it makes me feel... caged," Shard whispered-yelled. Cherry looked at Shard and realized he was dirty and injured.

"Are you okay?" Cherry asked, grabbing his tail to examine the injury.

"I'm fine, now come," Shard said quickly. Cherry decided to follow him. Maybe I could find some way to tell the guardians where we are.

They trudged through the forest. Shard stumbled and halted for a second.

"What happened?" Cherry asked kindly.

"When I was flying in the dark I hit a branch and fell to the ground," Shard said shortly, eyes flitting around the forest, but never landing on Cherry.

"Come on, we should head back, those injuries could be serious," Cherry exclaimed.

"I just want to be outside and free for a little bit," Shard said. She sighed and nodded.

They walked on a bit further before Shard looked up. They saw Starflower flying around, calling for Shard. He said "Hide, fast!" They ran under the trees and hid in a cave nearby. Shard blocked the entrance with flame silk. "Keep running through this cave, and tell me when it ends!" Shard ordered. Cherry ran as fast as she could. This is one big cave. Cherry thought to herself.

Cherry saw light and ran towards it. The cave ended suddenly and she stepped out. She looked around to realize that she was in a dense forest. It didn't seem to be anything like the RainWing forest. There were taller trees, more exotic plants, and there was an eerie feeling in the air. Maybe it wasn't a cave after all.

Cherry heard footsteps -many footsteps- coming from the tunnel. A face came into view.

"Why have you stopped run-" Shard started, before running out of the tunnel. All of the guardians along with Yeti rush out of the tunnel.

"SHARD! You better stop running!" Yeti yelled. Yeti stopped dead, his mouth open.

"Wha- what? How did we get here?" The guardians looked surprisingly calm.

"I don't know, but being here already should be impossible," Shard exclaimed.

"How do you think we get you guys so quickly?" Staflower said.

"N-no way... that's not possible- how did you?" Shard stammered.

"We made the tunnel," said Snowstar. Cherry gasped. Starflower smiled sweetly. Shard took a few steps forward, but stopped.

Stonefly had grabbed Shard. Shard started to squirm to get out of her grip.

"Don't think we have forgotten about you," said Stonefly, "now come on, we have to get back to HQ." Everyone turned around except Cherry. Cherry sighed. Can't they stay, just for a little bit? Pine grabbed Cherry's arm.

"This place is dangerous, now let's keep moving," Pine said, and they walked back through the tunnel.

The way back sent chills up their spines. How long had the tunnel been there? Did it branch off and lead anywhere else? Cherry thought. The wind started to pick up, chapping their faces. Clouds rolled in, blocking out the sun. Soon, it was too dark and cold to continue. Starflower settled them down and gathered some mangos from the treetops. They ate in silence, no one daring to break it. Finally, Pine broke the silence.

"It seems a storm is rolling in, we need to find shelter, fast," Pine said. The second he finished, lighting crashed down. One of the bolts hit a tree and it started to lean. "Look!" said Cherry. "The tree is going to crash down on us!" She dived out of the way pulling Yeti along with her. BOOM! The tree hit the ground in one swift motion. A scream of agony pierced her ears.

She looked over. Shard's tail underneath the tree. Stonefly ran towards him, grabbing his paw. Pine yelled but she didn't know what he said. Yeti flew past her, howsting up the trunk. Starflower pulled Shard out, but she barely saw it. The world was rushing past her with flying colors.

"Cherry!" Someone shouted, and everything zoomed back into focus. It was Starflower, her scales light green. The storm was over. The sky was midnight black, and a moon shown through the remaining clouds. She woke up in the caves in the canyon. Shard, Pine, and Starflower were all looking over her. Shard had bandages around his tail So it wasn't a dream she thought.

"You fainted after the storm was over," Shard said. Cherry groaned.

"My head," she croaked. The pain was bad, but she could get through it.

"Are you okay?" asked Shard. "Why do you faint so much?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, shut up Shard. Where are the others?" Cherry asked urgently.

"They are fine, Yeti is with Snowstar talking about IceWing things and Stonefly is...," Starflower trailed off.

"Stonefly is what," Cherry asked.

"She says she is doing something important," Shard said.

"Shard, Starflower, Pine, what aren't you telling me?" Cherry murmured, frustrated.

"I don't know either, all they tell me is that it's something important," grumbled Shard. He scowled angrily

Cherry sighed. "Come on Shard, it's late, let's go to bed after we get Yeti," Cherry said. They walked away from the two guardians, and split up trying to find Yeti. Cherry walked into Snowstar's room and found Yeti practicing fighting with Snowstar. The room was frosted over, and Cherry stood back to avoid icy blasts of breath.

"Yeti, we have to head to bed," Cherry said shortly, exhaling on her hands to warm them up. Yeti groaned, but nodded and said good night to Snowstar. They met up with Shard in the tunnel and went to bed.

They woke up later and spent most of their day playing and training. In the late afternoon Starflower walked in, sighed and said, "We have something to tell you dragonets."

I promise the next chapter will be something important and not just a filler. I PROMISE.

I don't have much to say here...

How was your week?

Also I don't know if I said this before (sry if I did) but Tuesday is posting day for this book. Because I have other books there probably will only be one chapter a week.
