"If you people don't feed and get coffee in ten minutes, I'm going to sit on the ground and throw a fit as if I were a toddler." Brianna informed them as they walked down the street near one of their points of interests.
"You're going to tell me you aren't already acting like a toddler?" Sam teased.
"Is she being serious?" Torres asked.
Sam told him 'no,' while Brianna said 'yes.' She stopped walking and raised an eyebrow at Sam.
"Want to test that theory?" Brianna challenged him.
Sam huffed. "Not really. Come on. We'll find somewhere to eat."
They settled on a small little cafe that had a vantage point of several buildings that had been marked previously by handprints. While the rest of them looked over the menu, Torres scanned the area with his phone to see if there were any new markings.
"This feels too open." Brianna noted as she took a sip of her coffee.
"Too open?" Nicky asked.
"You know? There's too much foot traffic. Too many eyes. If I was trying to form some lucrative group, this is not the area where I would want to meet." She told him. "What's the nearest GRC center?"
Sam opened his phone. "Uhh, three blocks south of us. Not too far."
"I have an idea." Brianna said.
"Okay. Care to share it with the class?" Torres asked curiously.
"I will, after we eat." She informed him.
It had been nearly sixteen hours since she ate and if she wanted to continue on with their mission, she had to eat. Just the coffee had been enough to awaken her mind. Sometimes, there were perks of being famous, if Brianna was famous. She didn't consider herself a celebrity, but it was definitely a rare instance when she could go anywhere without being noticed.
"Wait." Torres stopped Brianna as she explained her plan. "You're just going to waltz into a GRC camp and start asking questions?"
She shook her head. "No. Sam and I are going to offer them some help. After we're there for a little while, we'll start asking questions. Torres, can you monitor their chat rooms while we're in there? If someone is in this group and they're in the camp, they'll definitely start talking about us."
"I don't like this." Nicky admitted.
"We'll be fine." Sam assured him. "The likelihood of us being attack in a building full of children and women is small. There's also been no reports of violence from them."
"No reports of violence yet. I'm not sure how kindly they'll react to two of the people who are responsible for this mess walking into the camp and providing 'help.'" He said.
"Mess?" Brianna questioned him.
Sam watched as Brianna tensed. He knew not everyone shared the same opinion about the choices the Avengers made, but there was no sense in debating it during the current moment. They all had jobs to do.
"Ready, Bri?" Sam asked. He knew if he didn't get her out of there, she would more than likely rip into Nicky. She didn't say a word as she stood up. She just slipped her jacket back on and followed Sam.
