A/N: And so we've reached the end of the story, for now. I do want to continue it eventually, but for now I'm happy how it ended. I do hope you enjoyed it as well and thank you for all the support!

Ten Years Later

It had been a damn mistake the moment he didn't return back to the year 2023 after returning the stones. He had found where she was living. He had walked up the front steps. He had knocked on the door, seen her surprised face. He had danced with her for what seemed hours. Hell, he had even kissed her briefly, but then he told her what happened. The years he spent with his team. The people he had met. She had told him to leave. To go back. That he didn't belong there anymore. He had made a life. He needed to return to that life.

Everything looked different. He didn't return in a forest like he did when he went through the realm. Instead, it was a building. Well, more like a room with tall ceilings and starch white walls. He looked around more. This wasn't right. Something had gone wrong. Had he spent too much time in the past? He heard voices. They seemed shocked. Three people stood behind a small room enclosed in glass. One in particular looked familiar, but also older.

"Captain...Rogers?" Peter Parker asked. He walked over to the man slowly who looked just as surprised as he was. The man had not aged one bit. Peter knew he had gone back to return the stones and ultimately he decided to stay. At least, that's what old Steve had said.

"Peter," Steve paused to look at him. "Where am I?"

"The Avengers Compound." He answered, still keeping his distance from the soldier. Behind him, Kate and Torres gaped at the former Captain America. They had never seen him in person before.

"The compound got destroyed almost a week ago. I know Stark's technology was great, but it wasn't this good. What year is it?" Steve asked.

Peter swallowed dryly. "2033."

Steve almost gasped. He had gone back to the wrong year. How he did it, he didn't know. What he did know was that he needed to find Brianna. He needed to apologize. He needed to win her back. "Where's Brianna?"

It was another question Peter didn't want to answer. He vaguely remembered that Brianna and Steve had been together, but that felt like a lifetime ago. She had moved on since then. It was clear the man had come back to see her, but Peter knew that wasn't a good idea. However, he also knew how stubborn Steve could be and that he would have to see for himself.

"Look, I'll tell you, but you aren't going to like what you find." Peter finally agreed.

"Emma! Riley! Get down here or we'll leave without you!" Sam Wilson yelled up the stairs to his two children. His wife tried to hide a knowing smile as she walked past him. "They get their outstanding time management from you."

Brianna chuckled and kissed her husband softly. "I have no idea what you're talking about. Not everyone enjoys being early to everything. I swear, you'll be early to your own funeral."

"Damn right I will!" Sam called after her as she disappeared into the kitchen. Finally, their two children came bounding down the stairs.

"Dad..." Emma groaned once she reached the bottom of the stairs. She sat on the ground to pull her boots on. "We're just going to the park. It isn't that serious."

Sam almost scoffed. His daughter was only nine years of age and she had already developed somewhat of an attitude. That was something she most definitely got from her mother. Sam could still remember the day Brianna had told him she was pregnant with Emma. It was two weeks before their wedding and she hadn't been feeling well. She took a test just for the fun of it, not thinking it would be positive, but it was. They were overjoyed, of course, but very nervous.
