Be Better!

Y/n's Pov:

Alright, today is the day I actually start working.

I'm actually excited, I couldn't wait to meet the students personally. I quickly gave myself some reminders before I started the day.

Remember, breathe and smile. A smile goes a long way so make sure it's warm and welcoming. I grabbed my hand mirror and practiced my smile.

Perfect.

I put my mirror down and opened my office door. When I did I saw a line of students already waiting outside.

Wow, I didn't think there'd be this many students on the first day. I smiled and let the first person in. I closed the door and sat at my desk.

"Lets begin."

(Five minutes later)

So I've gone through the whole line and no one wanted to talk about themselves.

They just asked me a bunch of questions like am I single, married, do I have kids, a love interest, a crush.

I just gave them a lollipop and sent them back to class. I sighed as I put my head on my hands, hopefully it's not like this all the time.

Just then there was a knock at the door.  I quickly lifted my head and called out. "Come in." A boy walked in and sat down in front of me.

He seemed nervous and he was swearing a bit. I learned that his name was Koda and he was in Class 1-A, the hero course.

"So Koda, what would you like to talk about? Anything and everything you say doesn't leave this room." He began to talk about how nervous he was about being in the hero course.

"Koda, it's alright to be nervous." I tried to reassure him but he shook his head. "Everyone seems so confident. I don't know if I can be too."

I smiled at him. "Your classmates seem confident but they have things that make them nervous too. But they overcome them and if they can then so can you."

We talked more and I suggested doing exercises when he is nervous. "Before you go is there anything else?"

He shook his head. "Thanks, you've helped a lot." I smiled. "Thank you for trusting me, have a good day okay."

He nodded and left. I let out a breath I had been holding. Y'all saw that right! I did it!

Let's hope the rest of the day goes just as good.

I walked into the teacher's lounge to use the microwave, my lunch got cold during the day.

When I entered I saw some of the teachers were already there. "Good afternoon." I greeted everyone with a smile. One of the men spoke. "Oh, you're the new guidance counselor right?"
