Cutting Through Silence

"There he is." Levi spotted the black horse, the one who was carrying the tea I bought. His ears perked up hearing his master's voice.

"..he likes you Levi. I can tell." I told the captain. "Yes, that's possible." Levi helped me walk back to the horse.

"I'll help you climb up, this time I got the reins. You just sit back there." I nod my head to Levi. "Alright.."

Levi flung himself up onto the horse with ease, then he reached out a hand to me. Placing my foot in the free stirrups, I grabbed onto his strong arm, and he easily pulled me up. I sat down behind him. "Time to go, I want some tea."

"Haha.." I giggled from behind. "It sounds nice though, can I have some?" 

"You just laugh at me?..!" Levi glanced at me with a confused look on his face. He gently urged the horse to move on. " Oh relax..captain, You will get wrinkles from all that glaring."

Levi crinkled up his nose, he knew he was kidding. We were mostly beyond the fights from the past. "It's LEVI, how many times did I need to tell you that?"

"You would always snap if we said too much, or called you by your name so of course! we were worried."

"Heh.., watch what you say ____. Or you will be cleaning the house for a while, and not the horses. Seeing as you enjoyed spending time with the horses, it's hardly a punishment for you." He was just kidding though, mostly.

"Pftt, whatever."

"Hya!!" Levi suddenly made the horse gallop as we exited the town. Making me almost fly back. He did not give me enough warning. "Hold on now, your head almost dropped. Remember what I said?? watch what yous say." Levi smirked, reaching an arm back and grabbing my hand and pulling me forward more.

"Now hold onto me, dammit. I do not need you being injured more. Got it?"

"A-ah yup!" Not being given much of a choice, Levi forced my hands to grab onto his waist.

*Clop Clop Clop*

Levi began to slow down the horse. We finally got back to our home.

"I need to climb off so I can put the horse in the stall. Can you walk into the house and wait?" "I'll try to yes." Levi held his hand out to help me climb off the horse. I winced a bit as I planted my foot down on the ground. My knee was hurting still. I began to limp my way back inside the house.

Inside the house, all I did was slump down on a chair at the table. Levi put some softer fabric on the seats so it wasn't just wood. Somedays I wondered if we could ever go back and visit the old regiment locations we use to spend time at. Even if titans roamed the area more, there were times it was peaceful for us. I remembered meeting Kenny a long while ago. During the time he and Levi had that battle. Sure he was a man you couldn't trust, I ran into him a few times. Yet Kenny didn't seem to want to kill or hurt me. Even though he could see Levi and I were close.

*Click* The door swung open, and Levi walked in with a blank look on his face. His eyes set on my form sitting at the table. I could tell he was thinking. 'Least she took her boots off.'

Levi shuffled over to some box that held medical supplies and brought it back to me. He pulled out a chair next to me and sat down, as he placed the box on the table.

"Let's get this over with so we can have some tea." "Right.." I averted my eyes a bit." Okay, place your leg up." He half-ordered. "Huh..?" I blinked. "W-where?" "On my knee...dummy.." He mumbled. "Oh.." Stretching out my leg I placed my foot up onto Levi's leg. He continued to roll up my pant leg to get a better look at the scrape around my knee.

His eyes studied my knee, he took out a small cloth and dipped it in some liquid. The second it touches my cut, I wince at the sting. Levi glances at me a bit, seeing my face cringe. He mutters something under his breath, something like an apology. He was very gentle though.

"I'll dress the wound in some small fabric, just till it stops bleeding."

"Okay.." I replied to him. I was deep in thought. 'Levi...is so much nicer to me than way back." I missed Eren though, he was a good friend. We spent time together when he as in his titan form, he showed me around. Levi and Erwin were always gawking wondering why I was suddenly okay with his titan form. They thought Hange's experiments changed me and made me enjoy titan stuff a bit more. Well...Eren's titan was different than the mindless ones I thought.

"I Said, DO You Need Tea??" Levi's sharper words cut my mind off. "Oh.! sorry...I was uh.."

"Ha.. what's with you.." He sighed. "I'll take the tea though." Levi nods at my reply. "Go wash up.. you are covered in filth. Toss me your used clothes, once done." 

"Right.."

After cleaning up in came back out into the room. I could smell the fresh scent of tea, and some stew. I see Levi sitting at the table with a  teacup, He's reading some old papers. "That's better, you don't smell like those disgusting men anymore." The fresh clean smell of me hit his nose, making him lookup. "Yeah..thanks I think."

Levi snorts a bit, taking a sip of his tea. "The stew is done, I made it the way you liked it when Hange cooked it." 'Hange....she was like a sister to me, and a caretaker.' I still wasn't able to talk much about her freely, not even to Levi. Something made me feel sad.

"Thanks." Erwin was sitting on a chair next to Levi. I looked a bit to the side. Erwin smiled softly at me, as he looked over at what Levi was reading. "He's reading older research papers about titans." Erwin spoke, only I could hear him though. Levi's sharp grey eyes glanced back up at me. "What are you looking at??" Erwin's diamond blue eyes widen at me. Did he say too much?

"Oh what? no, it's nothing. Silly" I tried to play off my staring. Levi furrowed his brows. "Really...it's like you saw a ghost. Pft, eat already seriously. I don't need you to flop down dead."

I only nod my head, trying to not make it seem like Erwin was literally sitting right next to Levi.

"Hey...uh Levi?" I lifted up my spoon.

"What.?" He looked up from his papers. Erwin glanced at me with his head tilted.

"If Erwin...was still around, what would you say to him?" Levi's jaw hung open a bit, his eyes were wide at my sudden question. Even Erwin was staring at me, the face he held was priceless.
