-chapter one-

A whole new life style and a whole new perspective of life. How'd that go for you?
The nightmares stopped, not that she ever had any. Waking up wasn't a chore anymore but it was a choice, she was getting better and better!
The Mistress is long gone and she was happy, so is the Señora and Mariano.

The girl woke up with a new eager feeling inside of her, she wanted to be early to see how the party is made.

Quickly tracing her feet on the well-polished floor to find a new set of clothes in the closet.
Whatever shall she wear? briefly thinking of an idea, she grabbed a white shirt and a (f/c) poncho, This'll do it. (Y/N) placed on her usual skirt and shoes before running downstairs, (almost tripping on the last set of stairs) Señora was sitting besides the dining table with a smile on her face while Mariano was cooking "Good morning, (Y/N)! How did you sleep?" Señora was the first to notice she was coming in the kitchen so she greeted her with a motherly smile.

"I slept like a baby last night, it's a weird feeling actually" (Y/N) replied. Mariano greeted the girl as soon as he turned around to place the food on the table "It's Antonio's gift ceremony today! we should all get ready!" Señora stated, (Y/N) looked at her with a raised eyebrow "what should we do to get ready?" Mariano smiled and sat down next to his mother.

"Let's go out for some fresh air, y'know to get the day started!" (Y/N) smiled before quickly looking down feeling shy, she wasn't feeling embarrassed that she smiled but it was because it's what Camilo would always say before they head out to play. (Y/N) took a liking to it.

"ah, yes! let's go to the balcony! people outside is very busy for the ceremony!" After finishing breakfast, the three went upstairs and went out to the balcony.

(Y/N) ran towards the railings and looked at the people below them, her eyes gazed at the beautiful flowers Isabella grew. Mariano sighed loudly making (Y/N) look at him only to realize he was staring at Isabella, rolling her eyes playfully, the girl giggled and continued to watch every move the people did as they prepare.

There was this man having fun with his daughter and her mother, then her gaze shifted towards Luisa who was carrying a bridge while Mirabel was on top. It was a funny sight so (Y/N) chuckled and continued to look around only to see Camilo calming down a baby, as if he knew she was looking at him, Camilo looked up and locked eyes with (Y/N).

(Y/N) gave a small smile before waving, Camilo did the same before the two continued to mind their business.

Then, there he was.
(Y/N)'s smile faltered a little but she kept smiling. Quickly bidding goodbye to the Guzmans, the girl ran downstairs and out of the house to catch up with him.

"Father!" (Y/N) muttered out as she bumped into one person to another who all gave a confused glare, in a black robe, (Y/N)'s hand reached out to him.
Almost there-...

"(Y/N)?"
In an instant, (Y/N) stopped and looked around to see Camilo looking at her with a worried gaze, his right hand gripped on her wrist as people pass them.
A worried looked on (Y/N)'s face, her breathing quickens as her face fell.

"Come on...let's get you out of here"
Camilo replied, shapeshifting into a tall man before dragging (Y/N) from the crowd.

...

"who were you following?" Camilo asked, looking at the pond was it laid still "someone" (Y/N) sighed, glaring at the grass that they were sitting on.

This feeling was just like back at the mansion.
The Mistress would throw a fit and scream at the top of her lungs until she passes out, it traumatized her how much she changed.
Was this a good change? it was but every little thing that reminded her of the mansion made her heart ache.

"You were calling out for you dad, I thought he was gone..?" Camilo reminded, he was confused. (Y/N) shook her head, Camilo looked at her and nodded "I would never call out for him."

"why not? he's your dad"

"he was."

(Y/N) stood up and looked around her "He was an egotistic, narcissistic jerk! Both of them were!" (Y/N) shouted, Camilo was startled at the loud sudden shout "do you feel guilty, not having to appreciate them?" Camilo asked, it was the opposite.

"I didn't even attend their funeral! I-I haven't even cried, Camilo!" (Y/N) replied, she was angry. wait no, she was in pain.

"After all those years, I thought they wanted to protect me! what a long run they took, to torture me like this," (Y/N) paced around while Camilo listened to every word she said, Camilo was devastated to hear what she's bottled up.
"As a foolish child, I believed them and thought they knew better instead of being curious like every child my age should!" Camilo looked down and waited for her to calm down, Camilo knew his family didn't own a lot of money and he was fine with that though, he wondered what actual millionaires had.

Camilo would think they'd be having a blast with parties every night, a life-luxury every day for their entire life. Was Camilo selfish? to only think of the bright side just to ignore the harsh truth that breaks down the whole picture in silence because he was too oblivious to the fact that it was the farthest thing from.

"For fourteen years, I could've been running around the fields having fun! I could've been making friends instead of throwing tantrums, I-I could've been free instead of being isolated with my 'so-called-parents' who broke me first before anyone else could" (Y/N) broke down, she knew reality hits hard but it struck her like a lightning during a thunderstorm.

Camilo sat up and walked closer to (Y/N) who was breaking down, tears ran down her face as she tried her hardest to wipe them off.

"did they even care?"

Camilo wrapped his arms around (Y/N) who cried for what felt like hours "You don't have to be alone, (Y/N)" he wanted nothing more but to see her smile.

"You're free now, you have me"
(Y/N) found it funny, not because it was cliche, but it was because she was happy to finally have someone who see the bright side in every thing.

Camilo was not selfish for only seeing the bright side of things, (Y/N) was also not selfish for only seeing the dark side of things.
Why?

It's because the world needs harmony,
Camilo learned that there was a dark side of everything he wondered while (Y/N) learned that there was a bright side of everything she despised. They fit together like a puzzle piece that was incomplete for a long time.

"so uh...who were you calling out to?"
now not the time Camilo but of course, they needed to change the subject.

"my (h/t) priest"

"oh,"

"we'll probably find him at the party"
(Y/N) wanted to relax after a breakdown so she pushed it aside for a little while.

"let's stay a little longer then?"
the boy hoped,

"sure."
